Whats going on guys, new guy to the fourms. Just picked up a Stage 2 Red 04 SRT-4. I live in Seattle, but work on the eastside alot so some of you eastsiders might see me around there. Pretty sweet pickin up this ride though because I have wanted one since they came out, just never had the chance. As far as mods go, I bought the car the way it sits. I havent done anything to it yet (give me some time). As far as I can tell (and I am definetly no expert) but I do know the complete stage two kit was put in, except the Mopar injectors, the injectors are larger. Tein coilovers, de-winged (I did get the wing just cant decided if i want it on or not), Black-out tails, Blitz turbo timer and thats about all I can think of right now. I am sure I am missin some shit to though. The only thing I dont like about the car is it does have some stupid ass stickers on the bottom corners of the door I need to get around to takin off. I haven't seen but 2-3 other SRT4s since I got the car though, so if you guys see me flag me down and say I will get some pics up when I get a chance!
I actually do have a question, and I know its probably not the right spot to ask it, but I was hoping for some help from the local guys. Does anyone have there own OB2 scanner? I bought the car from a dealership, and when I test drove the car the check engine light was on. A day later when I took the car home, it wasnt on. Even with all the mods, I actually got a small warranty for the car. The check engine light came back on about a day later so I took it in to get checked out and told them I wanted to know the code that it threw. This is verbatim of what I got from the dealership so I am hoping someone else could help me out, or at least give me a way to clear the code so when I go to emissions I can pass
"inspected found P0171 fuesl system 1/1 lean vechile does appear to have upgrade in PCM software also noted has turbo cooldown timer and upgraded injectors. This code can be set be several factors including air intake and throttle position, lack of engine vaccum, coolant temp or mechanical failure. Vechile runs very good. Believe aftermarket parts causing errounes code to set might be possible to repair if theres an upgrade for o2 sensors if thats what causes code. Vechiles modifications do not allow scan tool to properly diagnose and techs are not familair with aftermarket products."
I am definelty not an expert on cars, but know enough to get by. So I guess if there is anyone else who has ran into this problem or might know a fix for it that would be awesome. The dealership is pretty cool and willing to work with me but If something else needs to be fixed, or its something the dealership can do I need to figure it out before the warranty is up. Thanks guys!
So I did that, and I didnt get any codes to pop up but I did see the check engine light flash about 6-7 times (could be more I just didnt catch exactly how many times) so I started the car and the check engine light went out. It has been on for a few days now but after I did that it turned off. That help any?
SO you cycled the car on and off 3 times really quick and no one letter 4 digit things appeared where your mileage is? The check engine light is off when you just did this? Just trying to make sure we are on the same page.
Reset the ecu. Get a 10mm wrench and disconnect the neg side of battery (the one without the red cover) for a couple of minutes. reconnect and start car again.
If check engine light comes on again try to remember under what circumstances it does.
if you want to make the drive to tacoma (portland ave area) i have a very nice obdII scanner with live data stream we can check the bugs out if there are any.

Welcome, first order of business... boost leak test.

We have a scanner thats a little more avanced the OBDII scaner, so I guess the answer to that would be... yes.
If I had to guess you have an intake manifold gasket that has gone out or you have a vacuum leak somewhere. The dealer is an idiot, they have no idea what they are looking at. Boost leak check and go from there. I guess we need to take a look at the car.

Any idea what injectors are in the car?
Yea, I was planning on getting the car boost leak tested when I have time. I am in the process of trying to move so getting all the shit for the new house and all that is pretty time consuming! As far as injectors, I am not sure. The Dodge tech who looked at them told me, "I know they arent Mopar parts, and there definetly not stock but I dont know enough about the aftermarket to tell you what kind of injectors are in it." As far as miles, the car still has less than 35,000 miles so I dont think any gaskets should be going out. The car runs great from what I can tell but then again, I wouldnt know the difference if it was something small because the car has driven the same since day one.
Coy, last night I did the whole turn the key 3 times quickly without starting the motor and didnt get it to throw any codes at all. The only thing that happened was the CEL blink 8-9 times and then when I started the car it was out. I drove about 45 miles today and it came back on right as I was pulling up to the house so i did the whole key thing again and it popped a "P0171" code. Any suggestions??
