3 weeks ago i replaced my cam sensor, and reset the ecu. I have hardly driven the car since then. My tags expire in 4 days so i took my car today to DEQ which this is the first time i have been able to get off early enough to make it to DEQ.
They failed my car. Their report said my sensors are UnReady. The guy there said its because my ecu has lost power recently. He recomended that i come back every day for the next 30 days until my ecu has logged enough data to pass or fail my car.
I can't do that, i hardly had time to make it down there today... So what do i do, how long does my ecu take to store the data from all sensors. Ive probably got 280 miles on the ecu since it was reset.
they said "Your O2 sensor and your cat sensor test as unready." if they were malfunctioning they would test failed.
weird....how is that of you had been driving the car?

with your key in the on position, motor not running, does the engine light blink like ten times then stay lit? If it does, the ecu is not ready. If the cel doesnt blink, it is ready for testing. keep driving normal and it will be ready soon. Its not the miles you put on the car that gets it ready, it is how many times the ecu has ran through the pirameters
okay i just went out and checked it not, i turn the key to the on position and the check engine light comes on and stays on solid, does not turn off. when i start the car the engine light goes off. i also cycled 3 times off and on, and there are no codes.
Its the OBD II test readiness. This is how the can test the car with out the sniffer. You have to meet 5 of or 8 of 11 test parameters (this is like 5 year old data so please no flaming). If you do not meet that testing parameters they will tell you to come back. If you know anyone with a scan tool they can force the testing parameters through or drive the car till they have tested. I can force a test in about 20 minutes.

ya this part i kind of know. i was just hoping for it to be done on its own, so i can run back there for a test. since the light is solid now ill go back there and have them test it again.
