Should there be a sticky for SRT Forums members that have died?
I certainly think so, let's take a vote up and see if there's enough support for it.
I'd like to see a sticky thread that lists the name, DOB, DOD, and any/all details about their SRT, pics if possible. I know there have been at least a handful of good people that have passed on here... and it would be nice to remember them all in some way like that.

This may sound morbid, but I think there should not only be a memorial to those we have lost, but also pictures of the aftermath of the car wreck. The SRT is a fun car, however we must respect it's power. A portrait and dates would also be a sobering reminder how quickly a bit of fun can turn deadly.
I think the families should have the final say. I don't believe Jailbait has family that visits here, but I know the others do.

Then love God with all your heart, and love people too.
Man, I just want to know how much this community has lost. I really feel it brings us all closer together, especially after seeing that tribute video for Nightshade, all those SRTs up on the lawn at or after his funeral, it was beautiful.
I don't want this to be a warning for people, or anything disrespectful, I don't even suggest we put up their crash photos, but just the memories of what WE knew of them. Their faces, their cars, and the dates they came into and left this world. They're one of US, guys, even if they're gone...
I think there should be a memorial, however I don't think we need to be posting up pictures. I understand the logic behind it, I personnaly just find it inappropriate. A brief story about the accident should be enough to make people think twice. If all the stories don't help, a picture or 2 isn't going to either.
Not to mention family members and friends will probably want positive things posted so they can reflect back on the good times. They probably don't want to see pictures of the worst event that has ever happened to them every time they want to add something to the thread.

So...
I vote for a memorial, without disturbing images.

I'm not suggesting it as a warning, only as a memorial to our guys. I can't remember, or don't know, every SRT-4 guy that has died here, but I want to.
I don't know 99.98 percent of you guys, but if you drive an SRT-4, and you have a passion for the car, you're a friend of mine. We have that in common, and I hope we respect each other because of that.
So given that, I would like to know who we've lost, and I'd like to see what they had a passion for that I shared (their SRT-4, and a list of mods if possible).
I think it's great that we mention if someone that used post on the forums has passed on, it's definitely the respectful thing to do, but I think it's important to remember what these forums are about: SRT-4, not a memorial for people that have passed on. It just sounds a little rediculous to have a thread about a TPS wire problem, then next to it is a thread about those that died and were members of the forums. I say we keep the forums for what they were for, our cars.

You have to understand something, you've only been a member for 1 month. I've been here coming up on 2 years. I know the TPS wire problem, and the hard start problem, and the clutch pedal cutting into the break light wires problem. Over 18,000 people have been here longer than me, and some of them are coming up on 4 years.
After a while, you get kind of sick of reading the same shit over and over. So you move away from SRT discussion and into other sections of the forum. This site for some people isn't just a place to learn about the SRT. You see who is here often, who posts dumb shit, who posts useful shit, who's funny, who's a dick, and unfotunately...sometimes you find out who is no longer with us. Some people want to remember them.

I think it's fine that people want to remember, but to dedicate a forum to people that have died is a little morbid for a car site. I guess if the thread is made it won't be any different than other threads that I don't like, I will simply not read them and stick to the car stuff.

im with you man, and FETA you will understand what he is talking about soon enough...these forums are more then just a source of information for our cars, its more like a family, having a mermorial for those lost would be a good idea...
