General: Saddam's Two Sons Killed in Raid
By SARMAD JALAL
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Saddam Hussein's sons Odai and Qusai were killed in a six-hour firefight Tuesday when U.S. forces surrounded and then stormed a palatial villa in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul, a senior American general said.
``We are certain that Odai and Qusai were killed today,'' said Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez at a news conference in Baghdad.
``They died in a fierce gunbattle,'' Sanchez added.
He told reporters that soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division were working on a tip from an Iraqi informant that the sons were present in the house.
When troops approached the building, gunmen inside opened fire with small arms. The ``suspects barricaded themselves in the house'' and ``resisted fiercely,'' he said.
Sanchez promised a detailed briefing on the operation Wednesday.
``The bodies were in such a condition where you could identify them,'' he said. The identities of the other two dead were not known, he said.
Sanchez was asked about heavy gunfire that erupted across Baghdad about 10 p.m., believed to have been in celebration of reports that Saddam's sons had been killed in Mosul.
The general said the gunfire may have been in celebration over the son's death or hostile fire aimed at U.S. occupation forces. ``It's very appropriate that they would celebrating about now,'' he said.
In Washington, L. Paul Bremer, Iraq's top civilian administrator, said he did not want to comment on how the deaths of Saddam's sons would affect security in Iraq.
However, Bremer said: ``It certainly is good news for the Iraqi people.''

HA! I got the oil out without taking the nut off. My car probably hates me now though. I just unscrewed the oil filter and turned the car on. Makes a mess because oil sprays everywhere, but I got the shit out of the car. Filled it up with mobile one and yeah.
I just read about this on the cnn sight.
I could not be more pleased to hear this. its about time that at least 2 of these bastard got taken out. Now its time to hunt down the biggest bastard of them all. When I was in the Army, during the first gulf war, I and my unit where practicly begging to go. But they did not send us. had some buddy in the 5th sf group that went though. its times like now, that I wish I was still in! If I had the chance, I would put my cross hairs on his head and give him a third eye. They also said that one of sadams grand sons got killed, to fuggin bad!! Like he was not going to follow in grand dads foot steps!!
Call me weird but it just gives me chills when I hear news like this. My fellow combat soldiers are kicking some major ass!!! and to those on hear that are still in the millitary, whatever branch it may be, don't pay attention what the cowerd protesters are saying, do a good job, kick some ass, and come home proud!!!!!

Then they sent him to Camp Schwab in Okinawa where he is now, but i think they are moveing him again soon. He is a Gunnery Sergeant with Bravo Company 1st Bn 25th Marines. When he's at home he is a Sergeant with the Keene PD in Keene, NH.

I betcha the Saddam raid is going to wait until
it is closer to election time. Have to be sure to
try and keep that one fresh in the minds of the
voters as they go to the polls. My bet, at least.
Hopefully the DNA results prove it is the 2 sons.
They had better not use the Houston Crime Lab!
