The waste gate overrides the boost controller. If the waste gate is set at 18psi and the boost controller is set at 12psi the waste gate will always be used. If you want lower boost for everyday driving set the boost controller at 15-16psi. Use the boost controller for higher settings like 18-19psi.

I have read through this thread, very interesting about the AEM set up. I have a 50 trim boosting about 21-22 pounds with a mechanical gauge and a perrin in-line boost controller, both working fine but I recently bought the AEM gauge/controller (not installed yet) am I going to have any problems? my wastegate spring is 14 or 15lbs and will want to run the 22 eventually up to 24 25. spooling comes on early and full 22lbs at 3500. Is the gauge going to read slow or is the car going to actually spool later? thanks,

Well I have a stock WGA! Which I believe is at 4 or 5 -- and its not adjustable, at least I wasnt aware it was, correct me if Im wrong.

Currently my setting for high boost is 80% duty cycle, the Spr is set to 4.5 - Ive tried higher Spr and lower duty cycle, but the car surges really bad when I do that. anyways - at my current settings I spike 17psi and drop to about 12 immediately then that slowly drops throughout the RPM range till I'm at about 9 at redline.

I'm almost a hundred pct certain Ive a boost leak or two! Especially since it seems like everyone who has this BC has a duty cycle no higher than 20%

My AGP WGA is set at about 12-13 psi. My Duty Cycle on the AEM Controller is at about 48% this spikes 20-21psi and holds 18-19 psi on cool days and 17-18 psi and hot days. I like mine but still getting somethings dialed in.

aem ebc sucks nuts on big turbo

avcr > all the rest of the ebc's.

on a stock/s3 turbo it doesnt make a difference because they spool instantaneous. for a big turbo, the use of gain/duty cycle/threshold is extremely important for spool.

and if you are big turbo and dont buy an ebc w/ boost by gear, then you are very much an idiot, imo, to be spending money on something a mbc does equally well.

ok you've got a higher than 20% duty cycle, but your also hitting 18 psi to redline.
Im still stock (for the most part anyway) and shouldnt have to set my duty cycle to 80% to make normal boost - 16psi. Friggin boost leak!!
