Yes my car caught fire tonight, Luckily i was able to get it out, before any major damage took place.
what happened is the $100 oil lines that i bought from tony decided to fail (under 200 miles on the oil lines) and it blew off the connection off the turbo and started pumping oil on the turbo manifold, it proceeded to catch fire and scare the shit out of me
from what i can tell right now i don't think i have a smoked motor because of the lack of oil pressure, it was not making any noises when i shut it down and the little oil that is in there does not smell burnt. but i am not sure about the BRAND NEW turbo.
Tony please contact me. I am NOT very happy with these lines you gave me. I assumed that they would handle the job, and apparently they did not. I could of lost my car, my motor is potentially done, and I am still not sure about the turbo just yet since I just got it off the tow truck. figure out how you want to handle this and get back to me, I plan on tearing into my car this week to find out what the carnage is.
Pictures will be posted tomorrow of the entire situation.
yeah i installed it exactly as it was put together. that is why pics are going to follow. it blew off the barbed end which i thought was the type of connection that would not pull apart (i can't remember the name of it) mardenized or something like that. so if it is installation error it would be from the error on FTP's. i am sure everything will be fine and not turn nasty. tony is a good guy and will make this right.
Wow man good thing you and your car made it out. I just bought a fire extinguisher for that reason.
