brightness i would say really, SMT or Surface Mounted leds are very bright and have a smooth wide exposure of light, while the HP or High Power leds seem to be just very bright, but don't seem to have a wide exposure of light....there's even Mini-SMT leds that are as bright as SMT but do not have that smooth wide exposure, they have more of a sparkling wide exposure to it, but these Mini-SMT's and SMT leds are very expensive...
