Which WGA is best to use with SCT-tuned PCM controlled boost w/ a S3 turbo? I'm stock turbo + Mopar S2 WGA + PRP at the moment.....this combo gives me whatever I ask for via PRP, easily holding 18+ psi to redline with complete tunability. Bob at FnF has my S3 turbo at the moment....getting some port/polish/ceramic love....I have a mopar S3 WGA in hand. Just wondering if I should source a different WGA.
Opinions? Please only comment if you have experience w/ PRP & tuning PCM controlled boost w/ a S3 turbo. Thanks!
Mopar S3 WGA works fine, but I haven't tuned any S3's with aftermarket WGAs, they've all had the "stock" S3 WGA.
I wish SCT would clean up the S3 code, still a lot of values that don't look right when you're editing a tune in Advantage.
I have the Forced Performance stage 3 turbo and I run the stock S3 WGA... I have it at 25 psi right now, no spike, just a straight hold. Works fine. With a stronger WGA spring it may spool a little bit faster and it will keep the torque/power curve a little more even.
Thanks for the input guys. I'll probably start w/ the stock S3 WGA and go from there.
Nemiro/Geezer, any specific reason why the AGP? I realize it's pretty much mandatory for the 'stock' S3 PCM, but with PRP & the ability to modify the desired torque & WGA Duty Cycle tables, what is the advantage of the AGP WGA? Just trying to understand the benefits. Thanks for the help.
AGP WGA allows quicker spool up, but it also allows you to hold more boost to redline. There are some PTB issues, as there are with any aftermarket WGA, but they are really not too bad on the S3.
