hey guys,
I need some help. i had a friend do some sct tuning. not exactly custom to MY car, but more of someone else's tuning thrown into my car,,, was running 17 psi (20 in 4th,,, odd but ok). hollowed out exhaust, no resonators. msd coil, wires, and iridium plugs. type s bov. wide band and scan gauge. that is it.
So,,, when i stock tune, im fine, no error codes, and its about 14 psi. rana 9.3 at the track 1/8th. thats about right i think, (right?) but,,, then i tune it, and i was doing 8psi 1st, 14 2nd and about 17 3rd... but, it was slower, regardless of my rt,,, my times fell. 60' droped bad. 330 droped, and 1/8 went to 9.7 4 times in a row... so im pretty consistant with my launches (racing background). trap speeds all the same +/- 2 mph...
SO,,, question is,,, with tune, im getting codes p-2096 ( Down stream fuel system 1/2 lean) and p-0633 (skim key not programed in PCM). boost is runnin weird. given my boost is relativly normal in stock tune, i think i can deduce any boost leak problems (i think ) so,,, where should i start with this tuning? i dont have the program to tune sct on a computer, and cant get ahold of the guy that did it for me in the first place. please help!
yeah, this i agree with, this guy knew... but kinda went a little lazy on me about it. he was doing me a favor,,, but htis isn't something to be lazy about either. so who around here (tampa) knows how to tune properly?
Skim Key code has Zero affect on performance or driveability.
but why didnt my CEL light come on at all during that whole time? if the key and computer were not flashed properly wouldn't the CEL come on from the beginning?

Skim Key will not turn on CEL, Your map Sensor Code turned on your CEL and you stumbled on the Skim key code that was there all the time.
Ted is 100% right here. A completely new, unprogrammed staged PCM will do this - in fact, this was for a long time, the work around for guys wanting to do a 1G swap, and did not want to deal with SKIM, keyless entry, or any of that stuff. Simply get a new, unprogrammed staged PCM, and deal with the fault code.

Thank You Nemiro.
I was getting the impression this guy does not believe a word I say, even though I explained it in full detail on the phone before his post.

it's funny how i get the skim key code too, and i had a professional tune mine ......or so i thought
He also failed to mention that he also has a Map sensor code which either points to a bad map sensor or a problem with the wiring, of which he previously had a fuel controller spiced in.
Which I also explained in full detail.
He told me the tune goes away, which I also explained in IMPOSSIBLE programming does not change on it's own and it is definately related to his Map Sensor Problem.
