I have a chance to pick up a PTP intimidator maifold w/external gate , flapper removed & filled in .
My question is , will the ecu boost control work with an external wastegate ?
I am assuming the larger diaphram , chamber volume , & spring differences will require changes to the related tables .
Anybody have any luck with this ? If I cant control the boost with the ECU when using an external wastegate , ill have to pass on this deal .

I know , but I really like the advantages of the ECU controlling all aspects of my tune , The boost by gear , the overboost protection , ect .
This is my daily driver , in the snow as well , so I change flashes according to the weather , or how much ethanol in the mix . I would hate to have to keep track of wether the boost is right for the flash Im on , or accidently run too much boost for the flash Im on .
I had planned on a stage 3 turbofold/turbo in the future because it could be controlled via ECU , I have seen a group by of $1500 for the set .
However , with this deal , I could get a Intimidator , external WGA , dump tube & new S3K for half the price .
Im torn between the two choices .
You can use the ext wastegate. Plug the vac line from the stock solenoid into the bottom of the wastegate. Might take a little tunning to get your boost where you want but it will work fine.

do you know where theres a diagram for this?
i have been meaning to start messing with vacuum lines, but i havnt been able to find one for external gate w/pcm control

it's very simple you just do like stated before
you use the black line connected to the stock WG
and plugged in the lower nipple of an external WG and bingo you are done
