Default Deep into uncharted territory...

Thanks to the magic of SCT, I got to do some really cool stuff today...

I also need to give some thanks/shout out to Mana4Real, he helped me figure out some of this stuff MONTHS ago. Today I was finally able to make it a reality.

First a little about the car so you can understand what's going on here.
It's a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan. Started life as a natrually aspirated 2.4L. I threw some SRT-4 internals into it, added a Hahn/Mitsu Super 20G turbo it, return line, RRFPR, and some DW 750cc/min injectors, plus a bunch of other stuff but that's enough details for now.

The car is a very early build 2004 (January 2003 build date), so it has the NGC1 controller in it. I got my friends at SCT to do me a huge favor and hook me up with some tuning. Sent my PCM down to them, let them play with it and send it back, a few weeks later, I can tune! They also happend to have the calibration from the same year Mexican Turbo Stratus in their database.

Today I wired an SRT-4 3 bar MAP sensor into the car.

I started out with the Mexican Turbo Stratus calibration (because it's the same body, same engine, same auto trans, it just happens to have a turbo from the factory and I didn't). Scaled it to 3 bar, gave it the same fuel and spark tables as the SRT-4 Stage 2 cal, made some fuel adjustments for the 750cc injectors, and flashed my PCM with it. So right now I have a Hybrid Mexican Turbo Stratus / SRT-4 Stage 2 calibration on my PCM.

Idle sucks right now, I need to go back in and tweak that, but part throttle driving, cruising, and WOT are amazing! Nearly spot on for my first attempt. A little bit of tweaking can be done, but for the most part it's running better than ever.

From the sounds of it, I'm only the 2nd person outside of SCT to flash an NGC1, and probably the first to really use it. I'm definately the first to try something this crazy, lol. I'm very happy with the results so far, and I never could have done it without SCT! I tried until I was blue in the face to tune this with just an e-Manage and MSD DIS2+, it just couldn't be done safely.

I'm street tuning it with a wideband and ODB2 scanner for right now. Trying to get some dyno time scheduled, but the nearest dyno is 3 hours away and they aren't open on the weekends when I'm off. As long as the weather is nice, the car will make it's first trip down the 1/4 mile May 31st. I can't wait!

I fixed the idle. Just copied the parameters from the stock NA cal for idle to the mexican turbo strat / stage 2 srt-4 cal I have now, and it idles like a dream.

LTFT is at 0 and stays at 0 from the most part. It goes as high as 3 while driving then usually right back down to 0. STFT bounces between 1 and 5 for the most part.

Thanks Aaron!

I just got some good news for you guys...

I e-mailed SCT last night to let them know what I've done and thank them for helping me out. I also mentioned the 3 DTCs that I have and said it'd be nice if I could get rid of them, but it wasn't a big deal.

The DTC's were:
P1190
P1105
P0033

I didn't get them until I switched to the mixed turbo cal I'm running now. I know I have them because I don't have a TIP sensor or any of the solenoids for controlling the turbo.

Just got a response back already this morning... this is what it said:
Quote:
Run an update. There are parameters for each of the solenoid codes. Set them to 97 to disable the tests.
I needed to dig this up for the SRT4 crowd anyway so they can remove the solenoids.

So be on the look-out for an update for you guys some time soon as well. I'm sure some of you have been waiting for this feature to be added.

Great Falls. I am 1 of only 2 Authorized SCT Dealers/Tuners in the state, and the only one that does any Dodge tuning in the state. Gomer's (US Diesel Parts) in Missoula is the other, but they only do Fords. I wanted to go out there and use their dyno tomorrow, but they aren't open on Saturday. We don't have a dyno anywhere in Great Falls.

Sure. I'll be at most of the SCCA events on the schedule here: Montana SCCA - Schedule

I can get you a ride along at any of those. Bring a Snell rated helmet if you have one. They do usually have loaners if you don't, but you have to have one on to be in a vehicle that's on the course.

I'll also be heading out to the drag strip in Lewistown as often as possible, and may hit up a few local shows here and there.

Just let me know when you want to come out.

Yeah that wiring harness you found the part number for to me worked out, but I did end up having to take a dremel to the sensor to get it to fit, lol. Ground down one of the plastic grooves on it, and it fits nice and snug now.
