I pulled the smokey turbo off and it was bad. The shaft moves in and out a good 1/8". The hot side turbine was touching the center section if you pushed it in. It machined out a bit of the blades (that was probably a good part of my power loss) and was slowing the spool sometimes, probably when it was touching. I lost a quart of oil just this week.
The compression test came out perfect. It was at 14.6psi air pressure (I checked the weather) and all cylinders were around 115-120psi. 14.6 x 8.1 = 118.26. I checked the PCV system and it was good too, so I knew it had to be the turbo. I just couldn't wait for the AGP kit to get here. Oh well. It feels pretty slow but better than the smokey one most of the time.
Oh yeah and I got me some of them cool gear ratchets, just to get the turbo off easy.
