At last night's little get together at In-n-out, we discussed that heading up to Firebird for some drag racing on 3 October would be much better than heading out to our own ShittyIR. I'm on leave all that week so I plan on getting there before they open so I can get as many runs in, seeing how that'll be my last time racing in the next 6 months.
Anybody have any advice for racing at Firebird? I normally have my BFG D/Rs set at 15 psi or so. How's the track? I hear they actually do something called "prepping the track with VHT".
I know I asked this before, but if anybody has a set of slicks they'd be willing to let me try at Firebird before I deploy, I'd greatly appreciate it.
"So, all I wanna know is.............who's coming with me?"

I should be able to make this. I dont have a helmet but I'm sure I won't need it. I'm probly the worst driver out of the Tucson crew. If I don't get into the 13's at Firebird I'm gonna stop drag racing, :P
good luck out there Firebird is amazing compared to SIR... I went to SIR and to Phoenix SIR on a friday ran something like 13.8 @102 went to firebird the next day same tune, boost and both on 91 and went 13.4@106 and Temps were near identical both days
If I'm not mistaken, gates open at 6pm. I was kind of planning on heading up a little earlier and stopping by UMS Tuning (they're only about 12-20 minutes away. Would anybody be interested in that, or would you guys want to head out later and go straight to Firebird?
As for a meeting place, the Cortaro exit is pretty good as that's one of the last exits in Tucson before the drive to Phoenix. I'm down for whatever really.
Well, after the great turnout we had last Saturday night, I think we decided to meet up at the Cortaro exit at 3pm and head up to Phoenix from there. We can stop by UMS Tuning and and then head back down to Firebird and get some races in.
I know Joe mentioned something about his son (one of his 45409843895 kids) coming up with a "support" vehicle and I know James mentioned about coming up, whether or not his clutch would be in. I guess just let us know one way or another so we can prepare accordingly.
So, for now it's the following heading up from Tucson:
