Yeah, well I noticed my cold side pipe was leaking oil ( not much only about a drip every day or so) right where it meets with the intercooler. My car only has 30,000 miles on it and I was pissed. So I did some research and found out a lot.
Here is the thread that I was reading... it is pretty good, check her out.
I just ordered a PTP check vavle and a double catch can to catch the pcv side and the breather side.
Those Darrel Cox racing guys said that of all of the motors that they ripp apart and rebuild they can definitely tell which ones used a catch can and which ones dont because of all of the gunked up halfway burned oil in the combustion chamber and shit. Also if you set up your catch cans properly you can benefit in performance a little (vaccum on the internal seals and rings, no more oil being ingested into the engine changing the octane rating, etc.) They talk a lot more in that thread, check it out.
