I'll be up there in June '09 for my first time for AN ENTIRE WEEK. I know it's several months away, but planning is everything. The date has been finalized.

The weekends are packed. Your better off trying to make in on a Monday, Thursday or early Friday. The police and other sightseers will take the fun out of driving the dragon. But it is worth the trip. Also there are a few other roads on the NC side that are just as good with no cops.
yea, us TN cops are a pain in the ass lol. I usually take the dragon up to chirohalla skyway. And the best days to go up there are weekdays when theres no slow ass fuck heads or cops like said before. I'd try to make it up here during the weekday.
I'll try to be there hopefully with some other local srts as well.
But yeah cops are bad up there. I went for the first time summer '07 and I counted 12 TN state police not counting the local cops. I've been several times since then though and it hasn't been as bad.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be there all week so if a weekday is better, I'm all for it.
We'll just have to pick a day where most owners can make it out. Since we're planning so far in advance it should be easy to ask for a day off.
If its on a weekend i can go , I highly doubt i could take off a friday , but its possible i guess , lol .
I havent been to the dragon in a year probably , but the cops wont bother you if you dont act like a crazed lunitic and go flying through there , i mean you end up at the same spot no matter what speed your going .
Im sure there are quite a few local nsrt owners that will go . I live about 45 minutes from the dragon myself .
Awesome, sounds like we'll have a decent turnout...maybe a few months before we can pick a date, time, and place to meet. Looking forward to meeting all you guys. And yeah, I definitely won't be there to go crazy and to crash my car or get a ticket, just want to take it moderately at a decent pace and have fun with everyone else who runs it. Already got 2 tickets in the last 12 months in FL, and don't want to get anymore tickets, especially out of state. And the online driving improvement tests are annoying!
i'll see what state troopers are working that weekend prolly 2 weeks ahead of time...but theres so many slow people up there it really won't matter how fast u think u can go...ur stuck unless it's a weekday. once you get to NC, theres more options on better roads that allow you to raise the speed a little bit
