If it all goes to plan my fiancee and I will be in charlotte the evening of sunday July 20th. We will be scouting around charlotte a bunch of monday, then i have an appointment with the Manager of the ATCT in Charlotte/Douglas Int'l that afternoon. Then we look around charlotte the rest of that day and into tuesday the 22nd.
From there we leave some time on tuesday and travel to Greensboro and stay the night up there. Wednesday the 23rd I have an appointment with the manager @ Piedmont Int'l. ATCT.
Hang around there and then drive down to Fayetteville the night of the 23rd. On the 24th i have an appointment with the manager at the ATCT for the regional airport there, more as one of those "while we're up here" type of things.
And then after that head back home at some point unless something catches our interest up there or along the way back down.
Anyone know of anything going on in those cities on those days/nights? I wont have my SRT or my girls Evo IX... We'll be cruising in the Cooper S s/c. 6-speed + cruise control + 30-35mpg highway = FTW.
*ATCT = Air Traffic Control Tower

Damn, wish i could get there by that time. I'm picking my fiancee' up in jacksonville, FL because she's at some convention for her job (she's a gymnastics coach ) and i dont know how long that is gonna run. We could be in charlotte late afternoon, we could be there really late at night. All depends on that.
ever think about RDU airport in Raleigh? not sure if theres anything your looking for there...
Nothing ever goes on around this area... Fast Cash for Cars which is right down the road from the RDU airport has a meet up every Friday with a bunch of cars... and thats about it...
Raleigh isn't accepting new applicants right now. They are filled up. One of my classmates went up there to tour NC a month ago and stopped in greensboro, wilmington, and raleigh. Would of liked to consider it but oh well.
Charlotte's airport is a higher ranked facility as far as air traffic is concerned, and higher rank = higher pay so thats 1 reason i'm looking at charlotte so heavily. It also means more stress too but eh, whats the worst that could happen?
Leaving tomorrow morning! Gotta pick my fiancee up in jville, FL around 1 and then its on the road bar any issues.
Just remember the cost of living inside charlotte is going to suck ass.
If I where you look on the outsides of charlotte and into Fort Mill area of South Carolina.
I am in Kings Mountain, NC. It takes me 30 minutes to the air port. That might be a bit far for you, but between here and Charlotte there is Gastonia, McAdenville (sp?), Lowell, etc. Nice little communities outside Charlotte. Some of the real estate there is starting to feel the push of charlotte's economy and rising prices, but some has not. I love it here. I moved here from New Jersey and will be here for a long time.

hope this helps some.
My GF lives in Harrisburg and it's about 20mins from the airport. Property is ridiculous in Charlotte. I agree with Steve as far as location.
thanks for the heads up paper. The realtor who is a friend of a friend kind of person showed us the area of Huntersville, north side of Charlotte. We really fell in love with that area. We were showed 2 houses and the rest were town homes. We'll see. We are now up in Greensboro with an appointment with the piedmont triad Int'l. airport @ noon. Then we have a realtor up here going to show us the greensboro area.
So far we really like Huntersville/charlotte. Specially like the idea of being able to walk around the downtown charlotte area. Miami downtown isn't quite the place you'd want to be caught in outside of a car.
Oh and also, we're used to expensive and high cost of living. Only select cities compare to Miami. The same $165,000 house we were shown today in huntersville would have gone for over $350,000 in miami. It's rediculous.
