Default Rockingham SRT meet?

What's up guys? I've been wanting to get some sort of SRT meet going for quite some time. There aren't many places in this area to cruise, so I was thinking why not get a bunch of SRT's together at the track? The main reason I'm going out there is to settle an "argument" between me and a bunch of Ford guys. They think Mustangs are God's gift to this planet. They think that no matter what is done to an SRT, it will never beat a Ford. So I figure the more SRT's to prove them wrong, the better. But it would also give a bunch of us a chance to gather, meet, and just hang out. I don't know many people in NC with an SRT, I just know a few people. There is no set date as of yet, but I was hoping to do it more towards the end of July/beginning of August area. Here is what's going on at the track that might give us a chance to run our cars:

~Friday-Sunday July 25-27 is DropJaw

~Saturday August 23 is Youth Day Music, Jet and exhibition runs
plus INSANE Performance 7.99 Real Street
plus Street Drags / Test and Tune

~Saturday September 20 Sandhills Street Rods Nostalgia Drags
plus Street Drags / Test and Tune

Saturday October 4 is Street Drags/Test and Tune

Here is the Rockingham schedule line:
:: Rockingham Dragway.com - THE ROCK ::

As of yet, as you can tell, there are no set dates for this meet - but plenty of opportunities for us to hang out and have some fun. I figure this gives everyone, who might like to come, a chance to plan and we can figure out which date would be best for everyone. As these dates get closer hopefully we can get a good group of people together. But let's try to plan this!

I think I'll be there this weekend, but unfortunately my car won't. Its going under the knife this weekend. Should be back together and painted by the end of July, but we'll see.

Course if you're wanting to prove some mustangs wrong, I'm not the guy to do it (I ain't that good of a driver).

Dude, I met you at Rockingham about a year ago. Haha. You might not remember me, but we were the only two there with black SRT's. Chances of you remembering me are slim to none - but I just think its funny.

Its not so much about proving them wrong, but I just think having a bunch of SRT's out there would be cool - kind of like a support group and a kick in the nuts for them. They are all ass holes anyways. But just getting a bunch of SRT lovers out there to hang out, talk, and get to know one another.

Anyway, I'll be down there probably today.

I'm from the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. About an hour south of Raleigh. 45 minutes from Fayetteville and an hour from Greensboro. Basically in the middle of everything. October would be no problem either. Gives me more time to get my stuff tuned by H&H in Fayetteville. I just ordered stage 2, apexi s-afc2, MSD tach driver, MSD plug wires, 50 trim, turbo manifold, and slicks. Hoping to get everything to me and on my car in the next 2-3 weeks. But like I said, October would work. I have a buddy with a 2000 SS and he's trying to get his stuff together (headers, x-pipe, stall convertor, chip, and possibly nos) and come hang.

Google maps is putting Jacksonville about 3 1/2 hours away from me. But my girlfriend and I are planning on moving to Greenville around this time next year. She's going to school at ECU. So if things are still going strong around that time, maybe we can work something out. But if I'm ever over that way - I'll hit you up

But hopefully this meet can still go through with everyone.

There aren't many SRT's in my area. There are 4 (including mine). I'm stuck in a world of Hondas, Camaros, and Mustangs. One is a mother and drives hers like a grandma, one dude just got busted for driving without a license, so he won't be out for a while, and another guy is about to have a baby and is hardly ever out. So I'm like the lone wolf around here. Sometimes its cool having the only SRT, but at the same time - it can suck!

Really?? Damn. I know a lot of guys tuned by them and the work they do there, from what I've seen, has been awesome. But I appreciate the heads up. I will have to look into that.
