Passing NC inspection and DSP

Say I throw a code and i need my car to pass inspection, if i clear the code with the dsp can I immediatly go and try to pass an inspection or do i need to put 50-75 miles o0n the car?

I had heard before that the system north carolina uses can tell the last time a code was flashed off.

i guess it all depends. if im not mistaken they can only pull a key count off the pcm, meaning if you just flashed it before u left and only started the car one time the key count would be 1 and they could tell that you flashed it very recently
mileage i dont think matter, for inspection, the more you drive you pcm relearns your driving style.(but i could be wrong)

hope this helps

Ok well heres what happened. Im at the dealership and the guy buying my car took it out and rhomped on it for a couple pulls, there was no code showing on the dash. I cut the battery just to be sure but it was only off for about 2 mins which I normally like to keep off for 30 mins to well over an hour.

They took the car back and hooked it up for inspection and they said it had a code??? So i know the PCM stores the code but wont neccasarily show it. I dunno...

If anyone else has anything to add please let me know.

could just be not-ready codes, I have heard and know of a few other cars (not srt4) that have this issue with diablosport tunes...

anyhow, I reset my computer with SCT tune and drove straight highway maybe 7-10 miles to the inspection station and it passed... so it doesnt take long.

SCT is different from DSP. DSP on a car will not set readiness codes for the rear o2 and cat. Only way to make it pass is to do a SCT base flash with the codes disabled OR put the stock injectors, map sensors back in and to make sure your car doesn't lope too hard so it won't throw a misfire code. If you are on a stg'd PCM then the readiness codes often aren't a issue and it should pass as long as it doesn't throw any other codes.

If you reset the battery right away chances of it passing are slim to none since the car has to go through it's drive cycles to set readiness on what it will set readiness on.

Once you clear codes or the memory of PCM. All the systems become not ready, which too many not readys will automatically fail the inspection(no way around it). Normally 40'ish miles of driving will set all systems to ready and you'll be good to go.

Not with DSP on stock PCM. lol. Only way to make it pass on stock PCM is to use SCT to disable stuff and it will set it as N/A instead of not ready.
