I'll be in Pensacola for a month. My trek begins tomorrow at 7am.
Night of January first: Stay in New Mexico. No idea where. Night of January second and third: Stay with family in Brownsvliie, Tx. Night of January fourth: Stay in Louisiana. I forget what city underSRTarmor recommended? January fifth I arrive at my destination. NATTC Pensacola. Too bad my SRT doesn't have cruise control.

Cool. I'll look it up. Ive read that the six cell maglight keeps it at 70mph. You dont want to fly?
Really? I just shine it at the gauge? (kidding) I would fly, but they gave me the choice. I chose to drive because my biological father lives in Texas. I haven't seen him since I was 9. I'll be 27 on January 9th. EDIT: I'd rather stay near I-10 because its along my way.

I drove from CA to SC a couple years ago, it was an awesome drive, but if you are taking the time to drive make sure you take the time to stop and look at big landmarks and things. We drove straight through and now I wish we had taken time to see the scenery.

I might do that. I drove from CA to SC a couple years ago, it was an awesome drive, but if you are taking the time to drive make sure you take the time to stop and look at big landmarks and things. We drove straight through and now I wish we had taken time to see the scenery.
I wish I could, but I am on such a tight schedule.

Oh I thought you said before that your family was in Brownwood, not Brownsville.
Have a safe trip! (Have that spare engine in the trunk "just in case"?)

Thanks guys. I have a small set of select tools to change tires, some oil, distilled water, and gloves, just in case. Rotated the tires, checked all the fluids. Tire pressure is 32psi in all.
GoPro is mounted and wired up for continuous recording should something exciting happen. Cell charger is plugged in. Changed my cell plan to unlimited data for GPS and Pandora. Glasses and spare glasses are in car, with flashlight and first aid kit.

Since most people don't want to be involved in airplanes that crash in to one another
or land in the ocean OR get directed to Siberia - please post up your weekly shift schedule. This will keep the national airport mortality rate down significantly ![]()

Good luck stay safe. Most states make you stay in right lane if not passing. I've got pulled over for that. Let go with a warning. I travel with a 5 gallon gas can so on the way back when I find cheeper gas you can load up a half of a tank in the trunk. Also snacks. They are good lol keep you away from fast foods. And if you take a cooler you can get like fresh fruit and good healthy choices lol

I also travel with a 5 gallon gas can. I have 3, and I use my favorite of them for a long trip. It saved my ass on Nevada because I had no idea there was like a 150 mile highway with no gas stations. I remember I finally found civilization in a town called Searchlight. Great name for that place ![]() Side note: It's so hard to say goodbye to your wife and baby for things like this. We haven't been apart for a single night in 2 years. At least its not deployment. Yet.
