Its funny how everyone always cries about the 05's are some big issue. There so hard to mod... not.

As far as mileage... There are some guys on here with 100,000+ miles...

It seems to be a pretty reliable car to me... No issues in the first 20,000 miles...

04 seems to be the best year. Plus Electric Blue was available then.

i peronally think 04s are the best. best color(blue) and all the stuff 03s shouldve had.

LSD is only good for taking corners AT HIGH SPEEDS like Auto-X. Thats it. I don't know what the hype is. I still auto-x with my 03 with no issues.

And LSD isn't required to do a two wheel burnout. Not that I have ever done that......

Let me move this to the Mid-Atlantic section. You are assured a much warmer welcome here, from the local folks.

Welcome!

Default this subject

this a very highly debated subject
I personaly like the 04 just B/C it is the best of both worlds (LSD with bigger stock injectors)
it has LSD and any 03-04 staged computor can be used on it with out any codes being thrown unlike the 05's
I personaly have an 04 but if given the option of not having an SRT-4 at all
I would take any year srt-4 period
stock or not
but 04 FTW IMHO

i hope you don't think autocrossing is actually high speed cornering........

LSD' have been proven to put the power to the ground more effectively .. Or else us drag racer's in the rwd world would be running open diff's... and not LSD's, Locker's, etc..

Diff between 03-05 i have no idea..

thanks for the posts guys.. i found some 04's in my price range all with under 40k that i will be taking a look at.. now if i can only find one in electric blue, hmmm.. i am considering an 03 as well, im planning on a stage 1 or 2 eventually anyways so i dont see many downsides, other than the lsd.. i could care less about taillights.. thanks again

get an 05 with less miles. stay away from a ACR. Absolutly nothing wrong with an 05 over an 04. Only reason I would say 04 is for the RARE yellow 04's or Electric Blue 04's. E-Blue ftw, but nothing beats an 05 CE SRT-4!
