Default TPS Sensor Cable Replacement

Good Afternoon everyone,

I bought my 05 SRT from Hoffman Dodge June 30th~. About 2 weeks after I bought the car on a warm day I noticed when I was coming to a stop and riding in neutral the car would rev up by itself on it would jump all around. I researched the problem and I thought i found the problem.

TPS: Bad Idele, high idel, p0123 code?

Well the step-by-step was not very easy to follow imo, but after some careful cutting and stripping I replaced the TPS sensor wiring. I did need to pick up some wireloom, all weather stretch tape, and some shrink splices. I un did all the wiring and looms as far down as I could I though would work, about 3 or 4 inches past where the all the sensor connectors meet with the rest of the harness that goes to the ECU. After cleaning it all up I cut and stripped the three wires that goto the TPS sensor connector. I made sure to crimp and shrink the splices, and shrink the finished splices with the shrink wrap that came with the new connector. After I got everything together and stretch taped up. I was praying it started back up after I got everything connected. But luckly it did just fine. I have had any more problems with it, but only time will tell since I can't really replicate the problem. If anyone needs to do this don't be afraid to drop me a line, I can give you pointers on how to get it all cleaned up and redone.

- Adam
