damn decisions, decisions...bunch of srt guys are going to mir also...atleast we will be well represted in both places...not sure which i will make yet depends on finances...low on cash capitol it is...simply because it closer...otherwise i'll probably be down at mir...i seems to have better luck getting by without a helmet down there...
speaking of helmets...anyone have one for sale send me a pm. thanks
Ya know I have been to MIR and Capital many times each. Capital treates the track even for test and tune. MIR only treats and compounds if it is going to be a huge event. They didnt even compound the track for Battle of the imports or imports vs domestics. I hate MIR. The best ever 60' I have gotin was at Capital 2.0 every time. I just have a bad taste in my mouth from mir and there long drive in bfe. By the way if you want to leave capital the will stap you hand so you can re-enter. So you will not have to buy track food. I wonder if any body from east coast boost will show up at capital.

I'm amazed at your comment. MIR and Crapitol have nothing in common. And that's a good thing. Crapitol is a ricer, long line, dumpy place. Period. MIR is for serious racers and is worlds above the Croften facility. I've raced for years and have come to the opposite conclusion that you have.
You have to remember that MIR hosts some very serious racing events (unlike Capitol) and that SRT's in some ways are considered second class. Like it or not, SRT's do not do very well at the track, and some tracks to not take them seriously. That being said, a phone call from someone to the owner (Roy) could easily have them step up the track prep. I have been at that track where I almost came out of my shoes near the lights, it was so sticky. My best 60' times in my Camaro (1.47) were at MIR.
So I guess what I'm saying is that before you judge a track, know all the facts. MIR is a world class racing facility. Capitol is a high school hang out, if you will. The reason MIR does not lay down heavy treatment for low powered (yes, our SRT's are considered low powered in the racing world) FWD car events is that everyone whines when they can't spin their wheels before running. And kids blame the facility for breaking their diffs. And quite frankly, I used to dread racing with front wheel drive crowds. They like to drag through, and bring water up to the line. (If you haven't been to Capitol, you can not drive around the water, you have to drive through it. It drives the serious racers crazy ) Bottom line is FWD cars are not meant for, and not respected at the tracks. You may not agree, but that's the way it is.......
Sorry for ranting.....

you forget not long ago mir looked just like capital shity shit. I dont like mir nor capital. if i had to choose id choose cap. And i dont under stand I never had a problem getting around the water at capital. plus MIR is out in bfe. when I went tracks to in florida same thing out in bfe. so I went to mir cence 1999, time for a change. Ya know I shouldn't have even brought pros and cons. I love them and hate them both. wolfe and i decited to make a meet @ capital this time but plan race all four tracks this year to includ 75/80 and mason dixon. so if you can hang next sunday you are welcome to come, or dont come, but we will love to have your company.
Seems there is a bit of a rub with which track the majority of you guys want to go to and the one that was previously posted.
In an attempt to be somewhat unified, I would like to see the where the majority of you guys would like to go onthis particular weekend.
As of right now.. Capitol is the track, and those that plan on attending with the group will still be on for Bowie town center..
Hey Chess you want to take the reigns on the MIR track trip? Are you guys going on Saturday or Sunday? (they are open both days for those like Noid who can make both)
The point is to share times and mods at the beginning of the season and to improve those numbers by the seasons end. So it really doesn't matter where everyone runs.. it just matters that everyone DOES run!!!
I plan on going to MIR on Sat. So Count me in on Sunday at Capitol. Does anyone know what day DragVa are doing the big drive to MIR? I hope it's Saturday, I wanted to be apart of that.
i might come up there, i might be getting my car tuned that weekend but if i dont i will show up. i will know something by the middle of next week. but i wont be able to make it to MIR next weekend so if thats were yall go have fun
