This guy hahah. I was kinda sweating it because the manager I knew ther wasn't working there anymore. I had a 20 in my pocket ready to give to the guy if there was a problem. They were giving me funny looks at the place because of how loud the car is. But they hooked it up to obd II and it came up clear. Now I can put the AEM on.

stage 1 ecu hides the no cat code....just as long as they dont VISUALLY look for a cat...ALL NON TOYS staged ecus will pass the toys portion is what kicks the codes.... i reccomend you get a cat hollow that bitch out and then run a hollow cat that way visually they see a cat but they arent gonna drop the exhaust and look inside it...

I went to the one in Columbia. Most of the "bays" are run by men in there young 20s it looks like. I don't think they make enough money for most of them to care enough to try and put me on the rollers.I saw the paper that came in the mail. It said you can't pass the test if your exhaust has any leaks, thats when i was worried on the drive over. If they would consider my exhaust to be a "leak".
lol emissions is now the biggest joke in my eyes if you passed....I should bring mine there next week when I am in town and see if they pass that....lol good though..it is about time you put the AEM on

the toys have nothing to do with codes.....stage computers when you get them from dodge have a skim key code in them....which some places fail for them.....some do not

Hell yes they do, what about the automatic transmission codes ???????
Congrats for you. I also was scared yesterday when I had to get my emissons done. I thought I was going to fail with Jeepins 3inch TBE with no cat but amazingly I passed. Emissions is a joke but I'm happy I don't have to buy a stock cat anymore.

Exactly, Its the automatic transmission codes thats making people fail on stage 2 and 3. I believe one of the vendors here sells a box you can wire in to remedy the cel.

Well if they ever look under the car, they will probably see the external dump tube, which is an automatic FAIL.

If i am not mistaken thats a result of the PCM its self. They re-program a PT Cruiser PCM for the toys and thats what causes the auto trans codes. I could be wrong but i am pretty sure thats what they do..

yes its not a code they throw on a regular...some do and so dont throw those codes....its the nature of the pcm to sometimes throw that code....but yes phrozen does sell a toys box to simulate the auto trans
but yes in a scense the stage 2 and 3 with toys will throw the code but its not a hard code as the skim key code is.....but the dealer can flash the skim key code out
Correct, performing a reflash (more properly a Reskim) will remove the SKIM key code permanently.
ALL Toys kits will set the auto trans codes, as noted, its a auto trans PCM, looking for love in all the wrong places And while not a "hard code", it sets those codes every time your start the car, so the code simulator box is your only hope to pass if your state fails for such things.
PA, for instance, says that any code, even those not emmissions related, are a fail, because they indicate possible tampering. Not always enforced, but its there if the inspector wants it.
