Default Atlantic Motor Sports in Gaithersburg

I am debating on taking my 2003 SRT4 to AMS in Gaithersburg for a general "go- over" of the car and possibly get struts/ springs installed as well as a few other smaller issues fixed.

Does anyone have any experience with this shop?

I have been talking to a guy named Cory from AMS and he told me that he just got done finishing up some SRTs.

Thanks. Pat

Budy of mine just got his 1st gen Eagle Talon (Fully built motor w/ 70 trim) back from them. He had solid intercooler piping put on and had the car tuned. Car runs like an absolute champ now. We plan on taking it to the track tonight. Guys are very friendly up there and know their stuff. Only problem we had was time. It took them almost 3 weeks. when they told him it would b 1 1/2 weeks. They also were tuning it on 110 leaded so they had to tune the car while the shop was closed. All around great guys!

Cool. Do you know if they have any experience with the SRTs?

I have also heard of PTuning.

I really want a one stop shop that can address mod issues and tune the car whether it be by DSP, etc.

They are in Gaitherburg, MD. I know they have experience with AEM. But i know they have also played with DSP. I mean these guys have built evo's running 49+ lbs of boost and keeping the car street legal.

Here's the link to their website:

Atlantic Motorsports | Washington DC's Motorsport Performance Headquarters

From looking at the website they just did a 300C SRT8 supercharged that came out super clean.

Plus here is a video of the AMS SRT-4

Great shop. My car has been tuned there and so has Passthon/Nate. They are really good at what they do and I recommend them.

I have heard mixed reviews about the one in MD

Update:

Well I spoke with Cory from AMS in Gaithersburg.
I also spoke with an individual from Ptuning.
Also, Lonnie from LMS (Lascuola Motor Sports) said he could help with looking at/ fixing parts on the car but is not all that familiar with the SRT.

Problem: I had a 2003 Evo and AMS in Gaithersburg was not recommended to me due to the simple fact that they evidently screwed things up.

I want a shop that will take care of my car and make sure everything is done right the first time, and be able to tune what is already done to the car.

I just want that one stop shop. When I had the evo, Buschur Racing was my one stop shop. I now live in MD and need a shop familiar with the SRT-4.

I get some great help from FM and highly recommend them to anyone, but I want the type of shop you talk about.

I walk in it goes like this

shop: Hey Ralph? What's up man? What can we do for you today?

Me: It's all good man, Wanted you to take a look at the ride, for some reason My AFR's are diving into the 10's and I lost a good 3 to 4 MPH on my trap speed!

Shop: Oh? that's odd?!?!? We can make you an appointment for next thurs, bring it by and we will take a look at her. Can you leave it with us?

Me: Sure thing shop dude! If you need to replace any parts just give me a call first ok?

Shop: You got it Ralph! You can trust us

When I lived in Az, I went to a place called superior Racing Development. they were the bomb!!! The really took care of my lil CRX.

As far as Ptuning Meh, they never seem to want to do any work for me! they NEVER return phone calls!!!

that doesnt sound like ptuning at all mang for realz, and the scenario you just wrote sounds just like what chris would say,and most customers go to shops to see what there about and talk with tuners and others to get a sense of what could be the problem, and what work did you want done? the first question mike or tuan is gonna ask is what are you tuning with, tuan is a certified aem ems tuner aswell as greddy e-manage,maybe u need to roll with me over there and you will see whats up

Of course Ptuning will also be considered.

I'd like to tune the car with DSP, or any other handheld software.

I really do not want to run AEM EMS.
