Default Are all SRT4's useless in the snow?

We got maybe 2 inches of snow here in VA today. My room mate's srt-4 is apparently useless today, even with his new tires (Nitto Zeogen). My 2000 neon was a beast in the snow. wondering if it's different gearing or what. I ran $40 pep boys tires too. what gives? He's even seen other srt-4's rolling around while he was in a ditch in his. What kind of snow tires are you guys runnin? startin in 2nd gear?

as a side note, now he's tryin to get me to take him out later 2nite to have fun in my WRX, since he used to have an audi quattro and is not used to this problem.

If he had Blizzaks or some other type of serious SNOW tire on the car, im sure it'd do fine, esp. w/ posi.& a good driver! I believe the Nitto's are only a 3 season tire also......no?

SRT-4 has no problem in the snow!!!! Put on a set of snow tires and you should have no problem. I'm running some Toyo winter tires and have no problem. Hell, I've packed the intercooler with snow from driving in snow that deep before. No problems at all.

Put on a set of snow tires or even all season tires and learn to drive, like holy shit, you don't need AWD to deal with snow....lol.

Start in first...if you start to spin just shift up a gear.

interesting usually you see all the awd/4wd drive cars in the ditch because most of them think they can drive as fast as they want and end up of course not being able to drive as fast. pretty much in the snow period u typically wanna keep off the gas as much as possible

Nitto Zeogens are NOT winter tires. If you put those on your WRX you would be in the ditch too, even with AWD.

I run Pirellis in the spring, summer and fall and have a set of Continental snow tires for winter. Never had a problem, no matter how bad the roads.

for some reason nitto calls the NeoGen an all season tire. I don't see it as being one, but it isn't good enough in the dry to be a 3 season tire. I think it's just confused.

Kumho Ecsta SPTs are an Ultra High Performance Summer tire and they actually did ok in the snow. I was surprised... Of course apples and oranges. I now have a Rear Drive car with 50/50 weight distribution...

Factory BFG's, 40mph and a light snow ='s $4900 worth of front end damage for me. Ill admit it though mine was driver stupidity, I was less than two miles from where I was going and got ballsy. It was like someone pushed the back of my car around and I spun into a guardrail. I should have known better than to leave the house when it took 45 minutes to get through the inch of snow in the driveway. I backed out of the garage and the car just stoped as soon as the front tires hit the snow.

Factory tires on SRT-4 + snow = Dangerous. I only drove a couple of blocks in a couple of inches of snow and turned around and went home.
