Default Aquamist soft pipe jet adapters now available

I have received some stock of the long awaited Aquamist soft pipe jet adapters.

They come in either 5mm or 6mm sizes to fit either stock or Samco soft pipes.

Heres an image of adapters.

Basically, you drill a hole in the soft pipe using a special bit (supplied with the jet adapters) using a drill press, the soft pipe MUST be supported internally to keep the round shape of the pipe (otherwise the hole would be oblong = not seal well) thread an installation tool on the adapter (this is also included) and then put this assembly in the pipe, then using the tool as a handle, pull the jet adapter through the hole = walah done.........very very slick = helps to project to people looking under your hood a very clean and professional looking install OR helps to hide things

I will be doing a test install of one of these on a stock cold side IC pipe this Saturday, I will post up images of the completed pipe sometime Saturday night or Sunday.

Also, I have purchased some stock cold side pipe cores so that when the new Aquamist kits are released, Aquamist WI kit users can also have as an option, ready to go stock cold side pipes. This is good for:
  1. for those without access to drill press
  2. who do not think they can do this properly without screwing up
  3. want to cut down on install time by using a bolt on part
  4. want to keep unmolested stock parts in reserve

After I do an install myself on Saturday (mentioned above) I will be able to sell and support those users who would like to purchase these adapters outright.

UPDATE, Soft pipe jet adapter install

Heres an image of the soft pipe jet adapter (806-385) out of the bag, as delivered.

Heres an image of the hole made for the the jet adapter using the supplied tool

Heres some images of the jet adapter install tool fitted to the adapter and in the pipe = ready to be pulled through and seated

Heres an image of the jet adapter after being installed and the install tool removed

Heres some images of the jet adapters after install, with and without the blanking plugs

Heres an Image of both the hard & soft pipe jet adapters installed with blanking plugs

Heres a couple of images with a jet installed

Heres a couple of images of both the IC with a jet and the cold side pipe with jets installed and hooked up to some quick connect fittings and lines

Last one, this kind of puts the size of the jet into perspective for those who have not seen the jets with parts that they recognize = nice, small, very purposeful in design

Overall and in my opinion, this should not be hard to do for most people who can get around under the hood or who are otherwise handy with tools. Simple double checking of things prior to drilling and not rushing to do something in less time then it should take....is really all it takes.

Support for the hose while drilling is important. I used a piece of exhaust piping. I'm going to buy some round wood stock or other mildly soft material to do the other pipes I have.

Also, this should put into perspective that given the small amount of work/effort/cost involved a smart person might get two soft pipe adapters and put one nearer to the IC exit tank and another nearer to the TB, = test different jets and different locations to see whats most effective.

Yes I'm working with Richard here on the forums........but as an WI enthusiast, Richard & Aquamist are the best......no doubt about it!!!!

Wow, that would have helped a LOT when I was running my stock cold-side!

Now I have a hard pipe, but I'm still jealous of those.

I think "direct port", since he'd said 4 of them.

hey Jack, i went to the PO to ship it and they're closed? i guess i didn't realize today was a fed holiday. and since i'm in the military, and i don't have to work today, it seems like it should have been a simple connection for me to make that other fed employees wouldn't, either.

it'll go out in tomorrow's priority mail.

thx dood.

Heres some info for soft pipe hoses.

The Samco BLACK IC cold side hose = 4.78mm

The Samco BLUE IC cold side hose = 5.12mm

NOTE: I got the information on the Samco hoses from Samco themselves after contacting them.

The Factory stock hose = 5mm

Why would the blue be a different thickness?

Nobody has had a nozzle blow out yet?

The hose thickness was from the horses mouth so to speak. I emailed Samco and asked them and what I posted above was the reply......I could speculate that the material for each is slightly different OR maybe the process is done on a separate machine?????

Judging by previous Aquamist items I have used I think the issue would be the quality of the install and not the hardware.

You can buy one and do a test fit on a coupler at first to see if you would like to continue with doing the same to your Samco. Trust me, Richard does not make Junk.......DRILL Press and a proper attitude is REQUIRED......if you just drill a hole without thinking then you could have a problem.
