a853rox can you give me an estimate on a ported intake mani+ that coating.
Thanks
You should consider ceramic coating instead of cyro treatment. Cyro treatment is more of a hardness treatment to preventing the integrity of the part from fatigue usually caused from high heat or "wear & tear". Certain ceramic coating treatments that Bob (A853ROX) offers will either allow heat to dissapate or deflect heat. However Bob can offer more insight to this also.
DO'H
I relized that when i got home.
Thanks
PM sent back

Thanks for the interest Taz!
Well cryo won't help you get TO 500hp, but it will increase your saftey margin for being able to handle that power with the stock rods. What I mean is the cryo treatment will strengthen the rods to a certain degree. It won't be as strong as an aftermarket rod, but it will be good to handle your 500hp goal.
Let me know and I will get you squared away!
Oh, and you should send me your pistons for some ceramic coating on the dome and some dry film lubericant on the skirts....

Cyro treatment---->Liquid Argon ?
We have some at work and its @ -308F
Is that what u guys use? Thats some neat/dangerous stuff.
The cryo treatments are one portion of my business that is not in house, but I am lucky enough to have a world class facility ~15miles away.
I believe they are using a controlled release of liquid nitrogen to achieve their temperature schedule. I know they have two, 250 gal canisters that they use to run one large, and one smaller cryo/temper chamber.
I was thinking of spraying the exhaust mani here at work-its a really neat process if u ever seen it-exhaust temp would go waaaay down if this application is used-Not sure what type of spray i should use. Its used on alot of aircraft parts here, so i know it could hold up to the heat-We use METCO all the way!

If you are referring to the plasma application of ceramics or ceramic-like coatings, no. Something like that is fairly expensive to setup initially, and at this point, I don't have the volume of ceramics to justify it.
I bought a used input shaft off of the forums here....I believe the member said he sent it to you to have it cryotreated...would you have done this? I ask because after trying to build my tranny twice, i had to give it to a shop. The shop is saying they dont know if you can cryo the input and mesh it with uncryoed gears? What do you think?

Cryo treatment will not effect tolerances at all, so there would be no clearance issues with a cryo input shaft and new/used gears. Although if everything is out, I would recommend cryoing the gears and synchros as well.
I wouldn't cryo treat the input shaft. It has to have some ability to flex, the cryo treatment will make it more rigid and will cause it to snap louder.
With that said, I've sent several sets of SRT-4 tranny gears and synchros to Bob for cryo treatment and all our still going good! Mileage ranges from 2K to almost 20K!
