The STi doesn't do a high RPM launch. Without that high rpm launch they are not that quick. I consistantly trapped higher when I ran any stock STi at the track when I was stock. If I had been stage 2 I would have beat them because they were only doing maybe 3000-4000rpm launches.
nice..i drove a friends stock sti and rapped an srt4 of the line...srt had exhaust,lowerin springs and bov..i jumped bout 2 cars off the line..srt was catchin up really slowely after 80..i launched at 6k with lil draggin clutch
not dissin or anything,i have a srt4 to,but sti will always pwn srt's off line..

STi's suck without a hard launch. When I was stock I could take STi's if they didn't do a hard launch. The local people called me out on it so I went to the track because they wanted to see if I could actually have a higher trap speed. 4 out of 4 runs against stock STi's I trapped 2-4mph higher every time. I used to have an AWD car myself. It was launch like a beast and then pray you can hold your competition off long enough to get through the lights..

For sure, The launch for the AWD cars (STI/EVO) are the money makers, No doubt about it I want a set of 555r Nittos for weekend street duty next summer
It just bums me out somtime all the flack we get for being "Front Wheel Drive" Thats why I want to set this car up this winter to be able to launch hella hard,H-brace and maybe some coilovers to stop the weight transfer. I was watching our Street terror video and about shit as I saw how bad my car squated during shifts and launch I want to be able to go out and dig race with a better,harder launch
