I dont think he missed a gear...had a run in with a stock 06 vs my 05 stock srt and I stayed side by side w/him up to 145 before he flipped me off and shut it down lol
You can hear him miss it if you turn up the volume... his car revs up and he says 'fuck' immediately following it.
Once again, anyone know mods on both cars?
Both cars started out in 1st gear.. You can count how many times he shifted which was 4 times. 05-06 Mustang GT's are only 5 speeds tool bags not 6-speeds like the 03-04 Cobras... He said fuck because he couldn't pull away from the SRT-4. No one shifts into 5th gear.....
Yes, I can count how many times he shifted. He's redlining fourth, and he attempts to put it in fifth, you can hear him miss/redline it and he says 'fuck'
That would mean '4 shifts' like you said, the fourth shift was attempting fifth- which he failed. Nobody said anything about it being a six speed.

5th isn't an overdrive gear like 6th is on many cars that have one.... he missed the shift.

Well a loss is a loss missed shift or not.....personally I think he said fuck because in his v8 mind he thought he would leave the neon in the dust . Call it what you want. Just for us to stay close..as was done through the first 4 gears getting to 5th just means the 1/4 mile was long over. Funny I had a run in with a 06 pulling out of the dealer yesterday and at the first red light he had his car revving and him and his girl were all smiles and granted off the line he had 3/4 car right from the jump and was not being easy... by the middle of third he wasnt smiling anymore .. I know because I looked over at him and smiled at his lady by mid 4th he realized he needs to read up on who he races. And no I didnt win, he didnt miss a gear, but just the satisfaction of being down 3/4 car to pull even in my stock 05(no mods at all) was worth every second

Holy run-on sentence batman.
I'm pretty sure he got mad because he missed a gear. It shows that the mustang owner apparently knew that the SRT-4 would be a decent race, seeing as he brought a passenger and video camera, and he wasn't saying anything until he missed a gear. Everyone always assumes that Mustang owners are jackasses, and it's really not always the case. I didn't see the Mustang owner posting excuses or anything, so he has my respect. That was a good race too.
Man I feel sorry for the guy in the Mustang. When you pulled in front of him you could see the cloud of dirt and rocks that got kicked up, and hear them hitting the bottom of your car. Did you get to the end of the track or something? That can't be very good on the ol paint job.
good race in the first video. mustang driver didnt seem too "angry". I am pretty sure he missed 5th gear. But I don't think the stang would have pulled that much more.

I owned a 2000 Mustang GT and 5th was not a gear to go into or you will fall on your face... He didn't miss.. Even if he went into 5th he still wasn't going to pull on that SRT-4... Go to any of the stang sites corral.net stangnet.com you name it they will say never to shift into 5th in a Mustang..

So it's literally not possible to go to 5th gear during a race? That's the way your post makes it sound. It may be the case that they fall on their face in 5th gear (not the 03-04 cobras, but that's different), but we're simply going off the video, it sounds like he tried to go to 5th, and let the clutch out too early.
Either way, the mustang had the win all the way up to 5th gear, which should be upwards of 120 mph I bet...far more than a 1/4 mile...it gets to a point where it's a top speed race if they go much farther.

Gearing and power on the 300hp 05+ GT is not the same as the a 2000.... this is a stupid argument, he missed the shift. Who cares... he pulled through the first 4 gears, a gt runs a faster quarter stock to stock.

LOL!!!
It was his fault, if you look carefully, when we pass the 1/4 mile finish line (black sensor boxes) I could not change lines to take the curve back (see it on the video) to the start, he simply kept going after me (he wanted to beat me no matter what) so I keep moving on straigh line, and could not brake either as he placed right in my back. I knew there is another 1/4 mile of road (braking space) before hitting the end but also knew there was some gravel and what it was going to happen... he got many balls to follow me thinking he would finally pass me and he realized too late that was not going to happen specially after the rain of stones. Nothing happend to my car and I really don't know what happended to the GT but I know at least he got some chips.
