I can say the same for you Honda owners... Don't cry when a "Neon" beats you.
To actually sit here and say we were flaming the S2K I can say the same for you and the rest of the Honda club in here. You guys were flaming the SRT-4.
So don't you think ignorance was among this whole thread including yourself? Don't sit back and play Mr. Innocent like you didn't say shit about the SRT-4. You were as plain ignorant as your calling me and the rest who went against you. Not one of you Honda Fanboy's gave props to the SRT-4.
I never cry when I get beat. If I get beat I congratulate the guy and move on. He's faster than me. I don't sit there and sulk about it. So what. We weren't flaming shit. We were defending the S2000 because people were underestimating the hell out of it. It' slow? Then why did it beat the SRT? Dude I just went back and read it from page 1. Look who was out of line first. Some people who couldn't except a loss. That would be poor sportsmanship.
And to the SRT I lost too in my Lude and B16 hatch, I congratulated them. I can't congratulate if people are going to be bitches and cry like little girls. Plain and simple.
There's a difference between you racing someone and somone else racing someone and you watching it. Given the facts you will end up arguing with someone.
When I race people whether I win or lose I always give them the thumbs up. My exhaust being as loud as it is, they probably won't hear me if I yell... so I think giving them a thumbs up lets them know "Hey good run". Sometimes I'll get someone that after the runs they want to pull over and chit chat which I find always cool. That's how I've met some of my friends. So yeah totally different attitude when I race someone vs someone else racing someone and me watching it. Totally different view.

That's good. I love that. But it will be totally different when the attitude of the other individual is down the toilet.

i still wanna know why if revto10k's s2k is soo fast how come when our quaint srt folk challenged him to a race he wanted pull out "his other car" being an evo or g35 or something? or proposed a short circuit track run? i thought it was all about honda and the almighty vtec (yes NOT capitalized, cuz either way you slice it it is a crap emissions mod and not a turbo like some believe it is!)

I don't know why don't you PM him and ask him. It still doesn't change the fact that the S2000 is still worthy competitor for SRT-4s in a dragrace. And I'm pretty sure that if Honda's VTEC system was crap, they wouldn't be using it in their cars for almost 20 years. You can have an opinion and that's fine. Just don't be an asshole about it. Calling something so successful, "crap" defeats the purpose of the spoken opinion. It was invented to increase volumetric efficiency but has proven itself to be a very effective way for these little engines to gain power. I am an H22A fan myself. Ever since I had my Prelude and rode in a friends 2000 Civic hatchback DX, which ran a 13.2 with crap tires, shitty 2 1/4" exaust system, and suspension. Nothing else. Honda's are excellent cars to race at the strip. It's easiest to do a swap to get the most out of them as we all know. But who cares it's cheaper than buying a newer car and then modding it. Again, It's preference.
P.S. And yes, I capitalized VTEC because that's what the head cover says! BYITCH!!!!....... Totally kidding
I liked where u were going w/ the 79 civic. Because it was not ur everyday civic. But i Don't give a shit What kinda motor u got in ur 90+ civic , to me its all the same.
I think Honda from 90+ should have their own Race/sociality. They all fucking look the same to me and everywhere. So played out its not funny anymore. Even my buds mother has an intake in her civic. They need to move on to other cars and not take the easy route. But again this is my opinion.

If the vtec had a turbo attached, you wouldn't wanna run it! And if it's just a crap emissions "mod", why are so many new car brands (all different makes and models) starting to use its technology? Look how much better the new Evo 9's are with Mivec for example. Lexus, Nissan, Mitsubishi, even the new Viper has it! Yes Dodge. In fact, SRT claims to be the first to use the VVT in a high-performance cam-in-block engine. The goal of varying the cam overlap is the ability to optimize it over a wider rpm range; the result, (claims SRT) improved idle and low rpm characteristics yet bigger power up the rpm range, and a wider, more powerful powerband. Hmm, how about that "crap".
And how bout them Yankee's!

Are you confusing vairible valve timming with varible lift. From what i under stand hondas only got both later on like the k-motors. I thought all of the b-series and h-series had just varible lift. Now the new 2.4 i thought only has varible valve timing. no?

How about because theres a big ol hole in the ozone layer, big cities have a huge orange halo of smog around them and petrol is running 70+ bucks a barrell?
Plus i know a bunch of SOHCs that would whoop both our asses so how bout that crap???
And about the video, what would make you believe that #1 those are in fact the correct mods and #2 the fact that you hear the srt in the beginning with weak blowoffs and then it fades out under the lawnmower sfx with the s2k sticking with it through 4 gears before the srt lets off at like 120? From that video all i see is another 35k car hanging with a pretty much stock 22k car... which is pathetic any way you slice it. Does all the vids of lightly modded srts spanking evo and sti mean that our car is faster? nope
