you're beating a dead horse man lol

I've tried telling him many times to do the other mods first to see what the turbo can really do. I even suggested a little bit of spray to get it spooling faster since he doesn't like the spool time. But oh well, hopefully he'll be happy with the new turbo.

Im not saying what to do here, but there is so much more that can be done to that car. Without these other supporting mods, other turbos wont perform as well either.

Im not saying. just saying.

yeah I get what you're saying. That's all I've been doing as well. But he did make a good point to me though. With the CRAZY deal that he got on his setup, he can sell the gt-k500 and buy another smaller turbo and have money left over for more supporting mods.

I think that once you go big turbo on either one, and get a nice set of cams for the evo VIII, I think they perform the same. This is just based on my knowledge, and from my experiences. What do you guys think?

the 9's have mivec.

an evo 9 will pwn an 8.

Bolt-on for bolt-on = Evo 9 > Evo 8.

But if you're going for a full build then the differences are negligible. Few builders actually swap out the Evo 9 head for the Evo 8 depending on which camshaft setup they prefer.

he needs an aem(well tuned) + cams.

and it should always be brake boosted.
