Biggest difference between the 8 and 9 is the price tag of the car and cams.

Isnt there a version of the evo 9 that you can get which has almost nothing....like no power windows, etc.....I thought the evo 9 didnt come with a radio either...that was an option you have to add if you want right?

There is the RS version, but it's been available since '04. The RS doesn't come with a radio, but all other versions do.

From my personal experience the reason that on stock turbo the EVO IX are faster then VIII is the fact that the hotside on the turbo is bigger. EVO VIII had what i believe was a 9.6cm, IX's have a 10.4cm. Correct me if i'm wrong. Also the cams and mivec give it a much better powerband compared to VIII's. I think that once you go big turbo on either one, and get a nice set of cams for the evo VIII, I think they perform the same. This is just based on my knowledge, and from my experiences. What do you guys think?

03-04 Evo's have the 9.8cm Hotside. '05 Evos have the 10.5cm hotside. '06 Evos have the 10.5cm hotside with the larger compressor housing.

yes thats right, I forgot about the compressor housing. Well pretty knowledgeable for a neon guy lol. I had two dsm's before my srt, I just got more into reading and researching on srt's since I bought one so i've slacked a bit on my DSM stuff. Thanks for the correction though.
