I've ran many Evo's both XIII's and IX's. Mainly because many of those people are my buddies. My main friend has a RR Evo IX ssl with HKS RS intake,DC downpipe, Greddy Ti, Hallman bc set at 21psi, fuel pump, and custom dynoflash tune. And him and me would be neck and neck till 4th and I would start pulling.
Same with all the other guys. They all dyno in the 314hp are. and 300ft lbs.
Ahh, I see the problem now.
Yep. I have full exhaust, headers, and mbc with tune on my 8 and get nearly that much whp on 91 octane!!
Ok, you dyno 23 horsepower less then my friend. He has TBE, intake, MBC, tune. The fuel pump doesn't count as a power adder since IX pump's are adequet enough. So no, you don't nearly make that much power. He was tune to 11 a/f. He wanted a conservative tune so a more aggresive tune and im sure I'd lose.

Doesn't get much more conservative than trying to tune on 91.

He must have missed that very important point.
On 93, I would've probably equaled his horsepower and bested his wheel torque (since I got a mere 2wtq less on 91).
His car is equivalent to putting cams on my car but seeing no increase in horsepower from the mods I have on now.
anyways anyone know anyone with a MS3 that has any mods, as far as this kid says he only has intake, but it sounds like the turbo screams on it,...just wanted to know how the aftermarket is..
i know cobb has an AP coming out for it, anything aside from exhaust available?
I would rather hear that than hearing he just has a cai...
lot nicer pulling a turbo+bottle mazda3 than just stock with a intake..but oh well fuck it lol
i think it might just have a cai . someone on these forums said the Ms3 takes well to mods like that . dont know how much power it gives but i know it was a decent amount .

i remember reading that their intake is so restrictive. they can gain up to 20 hp from a cai..

yea , i know it was a figure like that . i also think intake , exhaust, and something else almost puts the ms3 at 300whp.

It's the intake that makes the turbo scream. I bought my wife a MS3 and I really like it. Here's some MS3 dyno numbers.

But what are you tuned for. What did he tune your a/f's to and timing? How much knock? Al tuned his to 10.9-11 pretty much across the board, I cannot remember how much timing he had tuned to. I forgot to menchen when you dynoed his car he had all the mods above plus a DC manifold which had a hugeee crack in it.

If you have something wrong with your car, why would you tune it? That's ridiculous.
My AFRs were around 11.2 at the upper rpms. AFRs don't stay constant throughout the rpm band... close, but not exact. Timing and knock is all a part of the tune. Noone wants to tune a car with knock, so whatever timing a tuner can get away with - without hearing knock - is what they will shoot for. The other thing is that my car was tuned on a dynojet. Al usually tunes on the road. Regardless, his car wasn't running properly so I wouldn't have given those dyno numbers because they ARE low for the type of car he has with those mods. He should be around 360whp on 93.
