you just need more power mods if you want to compete with the big boys..if that Evo is trapping 3-4 mph higher then you you just need more power.I ran an 8 yesterday night and from 40 roll I had a 2-3 car jump on him but by mid 4th he left me like I was standing still! My only real advantage was quick spool and fast shifting in the beggining..It was obvious I was outpowered by at least 30-35 hp up top..just need more mods! !

i was suprised aswell . to me it looks like the speed3 was pulling at the end and the srt shutdown . im sure all he has is an intake since the cars are new . good runs man . if Nj's car was stock it looks liek the speed would have walked him pretty hard.

You're not gonna get anywhere trying to tune a map clamp w/ a PTP 75psi mod. Save up those pennies & do some real fuel mods boss.

not arguing, but ive only really raced a few evos, but how have you pulled when you raced yours? they pulled me hard, as you can see and the only one i pulled evenly with was the evo 8 with tune, 272's and boltons...which i still think should have pulled me harder...

power mods are as follows:
Stage-0, QW FMIC w. 1G DSM BOV Crushed, AEM CAI, XS Power TBE, Kinetic WGA @ 15-16, 75psi PTP FPR, AEM UEGO, 225/50/15 BFG DR's.

thats it for power as far as anything that would have helped me in those races...i only trap 106 on pump, a IX with mods similiar to those i was racing are 3-4 mph higher trapping in the 1320 at least in my experience...hell that grey one should be trapping 115+ with his mods.

i think i have a boost leak, its just it doesnt like to see more than 16psi or so, but i need a tune none the less, no excuses

I've ran many Evo's both XIII's and IX's. Mainly because many of those people are my buddies. My main friend has a RR Evo IX ssl with HKS RS intake,DC downpipe, Greddy Ti, Hallman bc set at 21psi, fuel pump, and custom dynoflash tune. And him and me would be neck and neck till 4th and I would start pulling.
Same with all the other guys. They all dyno in the 314hp are. and 300ft lbs.

lol So far the only Evos I have beaten was a stock 8 one with I/E and a 9 MR with flash only and it's because I shifted 1st into 5th. Alot of them are just alot more modded then my lil skittle.

not to start thread war, but can i get it on video? just hard to believe, my friends car with exact same mods, different brands and a tune went 11.8 @116

i dont think your traping 116 on pump...but maybe im slower

and yes i need tuning and more boost

and any 9 with those mods with that low of a dyno needs a new tuner dude, sorry...go over to evom and look around at the average dynos with the IX
