I'd be willing to bet everyone with an external BOV on an SRT-4 is running it VTA. The Tial is VTA only. I run one on a stock turbo but I had to cut 2.5 coils off the spring to keep it from surging during low vacuum situations, I also had to use a manifold sourced vacuum signal the factory line did't cut it. Tial sells 3 different springs for their 50 mm BOV - 22 inHg, 18 inHg and 14inHg. Mine came with a 22 inHg and it now opens at like 12 inHg.
I'll see if I can record a decent sounding clip tomorrow.
I had the same problem. I had to replace the 9 pound spring with a 7 pound spring so it would work correctly. It's a manly whoosh sound for those that care.
I bought it because it's a quality piece & frankly if the Pro Import racers use it, then It must be good. I've never seen an HKS SSQ, TXS RFL, or Greddy Type S BOV on a race car...TiAL & Evolution Mainly!
