Not really too impressed honestly. While it is a nice car im not gonna lie and the numbers are pretty good. If you were to actually take a completely stock one no tune stock boost level vs a completely stock srt4 stock boost. When you race them they are side by side the entire time and the cobalt makes 30hp more stock. Not to mention they tend to be pretty expensive as well. If you were to match the boost in the srt and tune it and you raced I honestly think the srt probably would have pulled at least half a car. Not to mention the engines are sick in the srt's 500+whp has been made on stock engines with these cars. I just dont think the cobalts engine could handle that without going boom but I could be wrong. All in all they are both great cars im not here to rag on the cobalt but I just think for the money and money to mod the srt is still more bang for the buck.

I've been looking them up more lately. With basic exhaust, intake, tune they are pretty impressive. A guy has a FMIC on top of that and ran a 12.8 on street tires with a 113+ trap. I thought it was pretty impressive. The last bone stock video I saw ran a 13.6 at 104.
Not bad. I'd like to see the limits of the engine myself.

I do agree however if you would like to bring track times into it my car with a basic exhaust, intake, and FMIC without a tune but had a wastegate, ran a 12.9 1/4 with a slightly lower trap. If these cobalts can make 295 at the wheel with just a tune the guys car with all those extra bolt ons that ran that 12.8 has to be making at least 30-35whp more then the 295. So if you take that into consideration my car making still under 300 to the wheel runs a 12.9, Cobalt making probably somewhere around 330 to the wheel runs a 12.8. You do have to factor in driver skill but I think overall you get what im saying. But nevertheless that trap speed is pretty impressive

Yeah, this guy was on street tires. Found video if you're interested:
Still like I said before, im impressed more then I thought I would be. Good vid. That launch control is pretty sweet, wish they would have done something like that for our cars off the showroom floor.
Besides the neon in the past. The NSRT4 stands alone. No sedan or other models along with it to make it look like sh!t. Chevys have the ss/tc and other slow models. It's just funny. People waited soo long with hatred towards the srt-4. So once the tc came. They bought it and raced a bone stock srt4. Only to say they beat one. I've seen it over and over again on the streets. Just like the OP. Next time, find an identical upgraded srt-4 with you car and post the vid.
Nice numbers. Not a fan of them at all tho. Just not diggin every aspect of the car.
They are nice #s and the cobalt is a nice car. On the other hand, comparing a brand new 09 car to a car that's been out of production for 4 years is just lame.
