Default Trying to get MS-1 to work with Innovate LC-1 + SRT AFR Gauge

Hi guys, I'm new here.

Me and a friend are working on his car, it's a 99 Dodge Neon 2.0L Motor that's been completely forged and turbo'd, MS-1 BY PREVIOUS OWNER!

The car was giving lots of problems, espically when going over bumps, e.g. AFR gauge would show rich, until another big bump and return back to stioch.

After we ripped out the MS-1 and found the tons and tons of splicing here, there and everywhere imaginable. We re-soldered the entire harness properly....replaced about 10 feet of wiring. Now, were back to installing the MS-1 that can with the car, this was one of the those build-it yourself MS because from all the diagrams we found, NONE would match up how this one was setup, so after lots of research we've got the car to run off the old MS-1.

Today when we were re-installing the LC-1 to the MS we ran into some trouble:

The way we wired the LC-1:

Red: 12V Constant (I think this has to be Accesory 12V?)
Blue/Green/White: Ground to Body
Brown: Connected to MS-1 O2 Input AND SRT AFR Gauge
Yellow: Taped off
Black: Calibration wire

The way we wired the SRT AFR Gauge:

Red: 12V Accesory
Black: Ground to Body
Purple: Connected to Brown wire from LC-1 also connected to MS

Now what's happening is that when you first start the car, the gauge stays lean and as soon as you rev it up, it's a wonderful light show.

What did we do wrong? And do we need to recalibrate the O2?

Also, Do we have to CUT to ECT wire from the ECU or just splice into it, I'm asking because the Rad Fan won't go on?

Right now, we are experiencing a fluctuating idle from 900 to 2000 and back, however, we think it's a vacuum leak because we see the vacuum gauge go from 18 to 11 before the idle is adjusted, so we are replacing all the vacuum lines, however there is 1 yellow wire from the MS-1 not connected, on the MS wiring diagram it goes to the Fast Idle Solenoid Relay, could this be the problem for the rough idle we are experiencing, if it is, where do we connect it to?

Last question: We don't have a stepper IAC so we didn't use the 4 wires for them, are they still connected to the factory iac?

Thanks alot in advance for all your help and suggestions.

First let me say that you'll get a LOT more help on the 1st gen neon forums (there is a megasquirt section with a LOT of people that run megasquirt). www.neons.org • Index page I really suggest posting there if you still have problems.

#1 The LC1 has 2 outputs. One should be set for 0-5v linear and connected to the megasquirt. Then you configure the megasquirt to have a wideband input.

If you want to connect to the AFR gauge then you need to use the 2nd output on the LC1. This one you'd set for 0-1v linear (or whatever the gauge wants).

#2 your idle fluctuation problem could a LOT of different things. I'm going to need more information (and I suggest you post that information on neons.org). What MS firmware version? Are you running spark control? What is the engine setup? Injectors? Fuel pressure? Can you post your MSQ file and a datalog of it running?

#3 The MS1 does not support 4-wire IAC. You can just leave it unplugged and tune the idle with the throttle stop screw.

The thing about the outputs is that the gauge worked before we uninstalled the MS and the second output from the LC1 was taped off from PO. Could it be that it needs calibration since power was disconnected for over 3 weeks?

Also, the MS is like a computer right, so even disconnecting the power it should keep the memory and how it was tuned?
