Well i bought a never installed ms2 v3 from someone who wimped out and sold it to me. I have the wire harness Wired(which was also new). Bought a brand new computer(running vista) and a usb db9 converter.

When i hook up i get nothing, turn the key and the lights flash, thats it.
Am i doing something wrong,do i need to load something to my computer to activate ms? I thought i read something along the lines of there being a autostart and boot for ms2.
Do i need to load new firmware? I'm lost! Theres just to much to retain!
I think i also read that the ms2 was sent out empty and it had to be loaded maybe I'll just try to reflash the firmware.

when you have it all hooked up to the computer, you turn the key to on, does anything happen on megatune? the guages should change and give some readings. if not, its not communicating. check to see if you have the right COM number selected

No , nothing happens to the gauges, the com port is set correct i've even chaged it on both the computer and in the software for MT. The computer says that the cable is working properly. I think its a firmware error.

even if it was firmware, you still should be getting a signal. make sure your ms is getting power when the key is on and make sure its grounded right
