So I decide to switch over to HR for the hell of it the other day, and I get the dreaded 3k rpm hiccup. The car behaves fairly similar to when I attempted a fuel only setup and the stock PCM had a huge fit. Logs showed nothing other than the AFR's going lean so I added fuel to all the 3k rpm ve bins. It seems to have worked. The only other thing that I changed (besides the firmware of course) is direct fit 750cc injectors from DeatschWerks...

Well if its a code problem I should know about it sooner or later. I have an NGC block in my garage waiting for some bearings and rings. From then I'll be putting it in my car. I still believe its a hardware problem though...

I'm not sold on the idea that it is code related. I upped my fuel pressure and the car runs better. It has to be tuning/parts related. It ran just fine with the normal MS1 code and I didn't get any "hiccup" issues.

I bet you all it's not a code, or fueling problem.

It's probably an ignition problem.

I've been looking to post in this thread since I first saw it last year but I never ran across the "hiccup" when I was on my MS1. All the problems I had were fixed by further tuning my fuel. Maybe you guys didn't have enough resolution in the areas where you were having the problem? On my MS1 unit, most of my map was < 100Kpa. Also, I was using a slight variation of the part time throttle map for ignition.

Same thing with MS2. No hiccup. I ran into problems at and above 10psi; but that was ignition tuning that needed to be done. The only hiccup/break ups I have now are low-throttle, low-load, low RPM, tip in problems where it breaks up while cruising in 4th or 5th gear and under 2000 RPM. If I bring the RPMs or MAP up, it goes away. I think that's also an ignition problem, but I'm troubleshooting that problem everyday as I drive to and from work. Honestly, I know a solution for the problem I just described... richen the fuel. I only have that problem if I try to keep my AFRs down to 14s or leaner in that area (less than 40Kpa). If I richen it up to say, 12s or 13s, no problem what so ever. So it probably means it's time to start tuning my Acceleration Enrichments and keep my VE table settings lean for cruising.

After raising my fuel pressure to 43-45psi (it was at 36psi prior) and doing a bit of VE map tuning the car runs rather well. Silly hiccups are once again nonexistent. The Universe returns to normalcy.
