Default Which Megasquirt is right for me?

So I have a little project going it involves a putting an SRT motor into a RWD configuration. Here's the kicker, making the motor run RWD instead of FWD. SO my question is will I need to get the PCM, skim key module and gauge cluster to make the swap work with megasquirt? OR can I just use the engine harness and create a PNP connector to the megasquirt using all of the sensors and what not that are already attached to the engine harness?

Also I was reading that MS3 was coming out but that it will only support 8 injectors?? So i'm thinking should I go with MSII with the addons??

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'll post some pictures of where the car stands now. I still got a ways to go but I'm getting there...

Thanks

You don't need any of the SRT wiring if your going to run the engine with a MS. Both MS1 and MS2 will work. MS2 has better resolution.

If you want the SRT gauge cluster to work then you will need those things.

Only support 8? How many injectors do you need?

So I can't use the stock engine harness? I'd have to use the GM sensors and what not? My plan was to just leave the harness on the motor and create a PNP connector to that Orange connector for the engine and have the MS plug into that.

I was thinking about it but then there'd be all kinds of lights on since I don't think I'll have the good majority of the other stuff hooked up.

I meant to say that MSIII will only support a minimum of 8 injectors and a max of 12 i believe.

Which Software do you recommend for the MS, the Megatune or the tunix?

Thanks Boost Junkie. I guess the next step for me is to read the megamanual...

You can use the stock harness if you want.

ms3 will do up to 8 sequential.. not a min of 8.

Megatune is what is use.

okay so where would you recommend I purchase my stuff from? I saw RS-Autosports doesn't make the kits anymore. DIYAutotune? I'll need the MSII, the wiring harness, I'll be using the relay board as well I'll be upgrading the serial port to make it USB and would I need to get the JimStim or would the regular stim board work?

MS II Board

Relay Board

Relay Board Cable I'll probably build my own.

Wiring Harness

Am I missing anything else?

Oh and the Stimulator board

SymTech Laboratories: Design, consulting, prototyping, and manufacturing - Megasquirt - FCD's - Manifold Spacers sells megasquirts modified for the neon/srt crank sensor. If you buy from DIY you'll need need to do some circuit mods.

You'll need a jimstim if you want to test the NGC crank input component of the MS. Otherwise the regular stim will work.

Boost Junkie is there a need for the alternator regulator if we were to go true stand alone ecu without the stock PCM?

You can use external regulator, like the one used in the late 70's on almost every dodge model. I was using that on a previous MS setup and work like a charm!
