Alright, I looked it up and yall are right. The extra code will not run on the ms2 processor. I guess I'll just order the same old cpu and go from there. Thanks guys.
So, if I go with RS Autosport, I don't get to build the MS. This may be okay because I will have my hands full installing and tuning. There are a lot of different options to select from. I understand that I want the MS n S Extra, so, on the RS Autosport web site, I would pick: Tach Input VR, SW MSnS Extra for $349 and NOT the wasted spark 420A/Neon one, right or wrong? Or, does it matter since I will be updating the software anyway?
I was also going to get the relay board, relay board cable, and the wireing harness kit to scavenge labelled wire. (or possibly the wiring harness kit and an extra DB37 connector to fab my own relay board cable and use the extra wire for running from the relayboard to the components.
our software will be different for ngc, and I honestly can't remember which one it was designed for. I think you may be wanting the 420a/neon code though, lemme read up on it again a few
If you are ordering from RS then get the neon/420a model. It has the appropriate hardware modifications to run an SRT engine. You'll need the firmware I posted in the original post in this thread.
You don't need the relay board unless you plan on ripping out all of the factory wiring and relay box. If not, then just use the stock relays. It's a lot easier that way. Just use the MS to control fuel and spark. Let the stock ecu do everything else...
You can buy the harness but since you only need about 15 wires it might be cheaper for you to just make your own harness. Those harness kits are nice if your converting something with a carburator to EFI. Since we already have EFI its an easy install.

My plan is to hit a junk yard this weekend and get the last 18" of factory engine harness and a PCM to use to make a harness extender. Then, I can splice the MS into the extender and not damage my factory harness.
So, with that in mind what I am seeing is the MS mounted in the cabin somewhere (any ideas here?) and a few wires running to my harness extender.
Since I want to use a 3 bar MAP sensor I would have to buy it in addition to the neon MS.
you can use the mopar 3 bar map in it. It can be programmed to read it no problem
The more you use it the more familiar you'll get with it, and realize, that with it being completely open source, the possibilities are endless. It can absolutely do ANYTHING you want it to
and if you happen to by chance find 2 harnesses/junk pcm's, lemme know, I wouldn't mind making a patch cable for my car as well too
