Default Megasquirt build question

Guys,

I am in the process of building my MS1 v3.0. I am at the point where I decide which sensor input I want to use (VR or HALL).

So umm, which one do I want since I am "hoping" to be able to tap into and use the NGC (No separate crank trigger).

Or should I just install both styles onto the board? The instructions mention installing both and just jumping once I decide. Anything wrong with that way (i.e. possible shorts or problems down the road??)

I have built 4 3.0's and all of them I build the whole MS complete and go back and do the mods. Build the hall and the VR, test it ensure it works correctly, then do the mods. This way if something is wrong u know it has to do with the mods instead of guessing if its the mods or the MS.

I just built the Hall effect on my board since thats what the NGC crank uses. I personallly myself would just build the hall setup and test it with your stimulator

It's still not verified that its a code issue. From the debug logs I've seen its decoding properly at 6200.

I will probably just do that. but the instructions mention something about firing using the neg terminal of the coil. Is that what we need or can I skip that step??

Skip that. Just build the hall circuit as shown on the schematic. Test the board with the stim. Once you verify everything works, do the neon mods...
