Default Megasquirt-2 reads NGC crank signal!

Here we go again. We just now got ms1/extra working on the NGC and the MS2/extra developers have added support for the NGC wheel. This is very early alpha test code. Realize that it will probably have bugs.

General info: http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?t=23867
Thread for testers: http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?t=24247

Advantages over MS1? 16-bit chip with much higher precision for both fuel and spark calcuations.

Cost? Extra $90. Simply unplug the ms1 cpu from your board and plug in the MS2. External wiring should be the same.

This'll have to wait a while, but I'm always up for it.

What difference does it make? All the wiring and everything is the same. Just plug in a different cpu onto your board.

You didn't waste money. The MS1 chip is only $12.

Anyone try this out? It's a shame the MS2 developers wrote the decoder for NGC and nobody is jumping on it..

I'd be willing to try it out...

here's a related question, on the SRT4 engine, what trigger angle is the NGC wheel mounted at? I.e., what should my trigger angle be, and if you have suggest trigger teeth - that'd be helpful!

I must be missing something, but I didn't see any MSQs floating around here.

thanks,
-scott

EDIT - nevermind, found what you guys were using for trigger settings!

we're about to try and fire up our SRT4 test car here in a few minutes!
