Default IAC Help

Has anyone made the stock 2 wire IAC work like stock? I can only get my car to idle at 600 rpm or 2800. There seems to be no in between. What settings are you using?
Thanks

I'm letting the stock ECU control my AIC. The stock ECU still sees the crank signal and if I remember correctly, I only tapped into the throttle line... maybe I removed it from the ECU. I don't remember. I'd have to check for you. I know I kept it providing the signal power for the sensor.

But anyway, my car was idling like stock (as it should) cause the stock ECU is controlling the AIC and I was using the stock ignition tables.

Please don't take this as expert advice as I am a (MS newbie)^10.

I have an 04 SRT4 engine in a 1998 Neon, which will not understand the Crank Signal. I need the setting to run the IAC with the MS. Thanks for your reply though!

If you have the RS board then its to my understanding you dont need anything but to hook the IAC wire to the motor

Yea I think the only reason to hack into it is because you are using the 4 wire IAC motor but the NGC cars use a 2 wire.

This is what you guys are looking for, as far as settings go.

www.neons.org :: View topic - IAC Closed Loop working, but loud as hell.

Maybe you guys can reply and let me know if the settings work for you or not, because I haven't had much luck.

well ive been going back and forth with someone from rs autosport and he said that i can hook up my iac as of now, but i may blow the transister in it or i could upgrade it. so im going to hook it up tomorrow and see what happens. he says that if i blow that transistor, it wont affect anything else so ill just do it. it it does blow ill just upgrade it anyway... well see

ok cars running. it had a little trouble starting from 40 degrees but i hold open the throttle and held it at about 2000 till it warmed up a bit i think thats because the lower idle setting was at 60, so i made it to -40 so it would be on all the time. iac is loud though. not sure y and i dont really like it. ay ideas?

ok after using the car for a day i found some more problems:

one problem is that the car decides sometimes that it wants to idle at 900 rpm instead of 800 for no reason.

another is that if i hold down the gas to try to have a steady rpm like at 2000 or something, i can't get a steady rpm at all.

my biggest problem is starting it still. now, i try to start the car, and it will crank and then slowly creep up to 600rpm , sit there for a while and then creep up to 800. i can't get that initial rev of up to 1300 or so like its supposed to do.

i also had a question about the settings. there is a place that says lower fidle setting, and you have it at 60. what does that mean. does that mean that it will not work until the car is 60 degrees?

any insight to any of my problems would be great.

thanks a lot,
mike

I think the "60" means it will fast idle till the coolent gets to 60 degrees (Ex 1600RPM) and then it will progressivly lower the idle till it reaches 160 degrees, then idle at the target RPM (Ex 1000RPM). To help with starting try raising the cranking dc. My cranking dc is set to 90. I plan to raise mine up as well because I have the same problem. If I give it a little gas it will start, so I think is will help.
