@ esteinmaier

Sorry, I can't help you. However, for the sake of troubleshooting, I don't have the lean problem that you are having. On the other hand, I had several anomolies that didn't go away until I made a .msq from scratch and burnt the firmware to the MS several times.

I turned off EGO correction altogether, and that made a huge difference. It's almost like it's reading the target tables incorrectly. The flat spot is still there, but it's much less intrusive now.

You speaking of EGO correction and taget tables reminded of something. I have an AEM linear wideband (same as yours, I believe) that is set to AEM linear in the cars settings.ini file (as opposed to any little tricks to get it to read correctly). I was having irregular AFRs and was suspect of the AEM, so I began datalogging the target AFRs and found that they are inconsistent and change from time to time. I have noticed that before cranking the car, at 101 kpa, I may have an 11.5 afr target one day and on another day before cranking the AFR may be about 13.5 (the value should be 13 AFR at 101 kpa). If the initial target AFR is wrong the EGO correction will not work correctly the entire drive, although the target afr is displayed correctly. If the initial target AFR is correct, the EGO correction works fine. I have an RS box and have considered the possibility of a problem with the map sensor they use and the new code. That is kind of jumping to conclusions though.

I have my AFR target tables set by voltage, so it's not really an issue. When I open my logs and MSQ in MLV, it translates my AFR target table correctly.

Could you update the newer code for the srt folks?
http://ys3al35l.googlepages.com/hr_10e.zip

Here is the thread that speaks about it.

MSx/Extra EFI :: View topic - Latest HiRes (hr_10e)

Here is cut and paste of whats new with it.

"Guys & Gals,

I fixed another bug in HiRes lately. In case you are not reading over in the development forum, The latest is hr_10e. This version has a fix for overboost with nonstandard map sensors. The standard sensor stuff was not affected. Overboost did not work with nonstandard map sensors when we released hr_10d2. If you are running any earlier variant and having success, fine, but there have been a number of fixes and hr_10d2 has a re-write of the fuel pulsewidth calculations. This was done to ensure that all remainders are carrier through the fuel calculations for accuracy. At the same time, we fixed the ASE and WUE problems that the people running 3 bar and 4 bar sensors (this is when we broke the overboost for these sensors)."

After speaking with KeithG on the EXTRA forums it seems there is a bug in the HiRes code that he is going to dig around and see if he can fix. Of coarse if anyone here can do some digging I am sure he would appreciate it. The issues are people having lean/stumbles at around 2-2.5krpm. Here is what he said....

Ok, I see where the problem is. It has to do with GammaE. I do not know exactly what is going on, but I have messed something up. It does not show up on my car or with my MSQ at all, but it does with these from the Miata guys. GammaE and Air Density correction increases with RPM and it should not. I'll have to dig into it to figure this one out, but I must be using a variable that is being used somewhere else or something.

This is with HR_10f.

KeithG

The problem shows up when you use CLT/IAT related air density. It is probably in a lot of these since 10a, maybe even in 9d. I'll fix it, but in the meantime, see if the problem resolves itself when you turning this feature 'off'. Please post here or in the Dev forum with your results.

KeithG

So I suppose my question is how much does that impact my car? If I go in and turn that off will I have to turn something else on? I will have to go and read the megamanual again since its been about 5 months since I have even started my car.

Well looks like he works fast and already has it fixed Here is the latest code. http://ys3al35l.googlepages.com/hr_10g.zip Boost could you please update it with the NGC stuff when you get a chance. I will be able to test around wednesday or thursday. Here is what he did.... "I just put the LoRes calcs for the CLT/IAT density correction. It appears to work correctly even with a 4G63 cam sensor. Please try it out and let me know."

Also boost I see your site is down. If you need a place to store all of the files let me know and I can probably work something out with my friend who lets me use his for all of mine.
