You just need to spend some time in the tuning manual. EGO works pretty good but if its not setup right it can 'oscillate' which is probably what's happening...

Cranking table. Try adding fuel?

ok my ve table is pretty good i think, but now im having trouble with accel. i need to do it by map because my tp signal is getting too much noise on it, im not sure if im doing it right, because there seems to be a delay. i give it a little gas, then it leans out, but then it gets rich. is that delay normal? and what is accel time?

I have no return line yet so static fuel pressure is at 58%. I believe my fuel is in the 29-31 range down there in the setup field. I had surgery on foot this morning so cant do a whole lot at the moment. I can try adding more fuel, but it smells as if its too much fuel once it does finally start. I did try taking a little fuel away and it didnt help...all it did was make the car idle at 15.7-16.00 a/f. So then I put the fuel back where it was and tried adding a degree of timing, but didnt help either. I think on those 4 cells where it starts I am at 14 degrees where as most of the rest are at 17

i pulled a little fuel out of the cranking pulses, and it started a tad easier, so that might help

Cranking, afterstart and warmup are the most difficult parts to tune and take the most time. Keep working at it.

Definately not for the impatient. Or those with sensitive neighbors. Mine got pretty irritated with me!

haha i got yelled at yesterday when i was tuning it in my driveway

edit: little update, driving around all day with autotune, which is working like a charm. fixed my accel problem by changing the tolerance to 50kpas. its working pretty good. the drive is pretty smooth, except i think it may be backfiring sometimes around 4500-5000, but i think thats jut teh stock pcm taking a crap with my spark. also thats only at WOT, so i think im good. and its starting better and better each time i chenge something. woohoo, maybe ill even be done by next year

ok im making a lot of progress, and i think its time to hook up spark, because i'm getting a hiccup at around 4000, and then a few times after that. i dont want to tune the spark table for power, i just want it to run like it should stock. i also have a 2.0L N/A motor, so i dont know if it will be different. i'm pretty sure all my spark angles should be the same as your guys, so what do i have to do to set it up. i know my dwell is at 4.2 or 4.0, which is ok because i am not reving too high (6500 max) i think the angle should be 63 or something, and cranking is -9 maybe? what should i set my numbers in my spark table though? i assume they should all be the same because that is what stock is maybe, but i am new to timing, so if anyone wants to tell me how to set it up, i will be your best friend forever

Set the spark angle to 62. Set the return angle on Trig return pos A (in the Wheel decoder settings menu under Basic Settings) to 15 and Cranking advance Angle to 10 in the Spark Settings menu. Try see if your car runs okay at 4.0ms running dwell. If not then raise it to 4.2. I've read of people running fine off the vacuum portion of the AEM SRT-4 base map. Maybe take a bit of timing away in the upper portions for now just to be on the safe side.

With the NGC PCM you have to go full control or none at all. Go only with fuel control and you will get the hiccups you are talking about.
