Default OBD II to USB on laptop?
Can you get a cable that goes from the J1962M to USB? I have been unable to find one. I looked on OBD2cables.com. Is it even possible?

I don't think you can, most people get the Keyspan adapter. To go from serial to usb.

usb-db 9 or pcmcia card , i have used the cheap brand from frys with no problems

Radio shack sells USB to Serial cable for $34.99. Thats what i got.

if you didnt open it yet take it back and i have one i will give you.....it came with my ems and i just plug the serial right to my laptop.....i didnt use this cable

Thanks for the help. I've got a Keyspan adapter on order. I am going to see how everything works on a tablet PC running Vista. Wish me luck !
