LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR INTERNAL LOG!!!
it is there for a reason..the internal log is equipped with 7 fast channels and 8 slow channels
the fast channels will monitor the set parameters at 250 times per second and the slow will record at 31 times per second.
you can record anything that you want with the log and it is easy to use
to set up internal logging follow these steps
setup/internal logging
this will bring up the internal logging wizard
from there you will see parameters on the left side of the box
for an example...if you have a stumble in your tune at 4000 rpm and 20 psi simply set your logging parameters to come on before the area that you are having the problem and set it to loop logging.
this will record the last 4 minutes and 22 seconds of data while you were in those parameters.when the log reaches the end it will begin to record over the beginning of your log always having the last 4:22 stored.
next in the middle of the box you will see the parameters being recorded.since we are having a stumble at that rpm and boost we will start by recording useful information such as fuel, timing, air fuel, multiplier tables and whatever parameter you may find useful.
drive the car around and recreate the problem that you are having.pull over and turn the car off and then key it back on.then follow these steps
ECU/DOWNLOAD LOG DATA
when the log data has been downloaded you will be prompted to name your file.i would suggest naming it according to your driveability problem for example 20psi-lean-4k.stf
save your file and another box for notes will come up.you may want to put in info such as the car stumbled 4 times during this log or use silly names like aaron has man breasts .
you click ok and aem software will automatically open up the log and bring up a window that says graph setup.you can select up to 3 plots(three lines of information.i like to use one plot and i click on overlays and add whatever info i want to read.click ok and the log will appear on the screen.
you will see ALOT of information and it will look crazy at first but if you know that the problem happened within the last 30 seconds of the log then right click and select zoom in.click once on the graph to mark what you want to see as the start and then click the second time at where you want it to end.this will zoom in on that part of the graph and make it more readable.you can now pinpoint your issue to exactly where, when and why it is happening.
WHEN YOU ARE SETTING YOUR LOG TEMPLATE NAME IT ACCORDINGLY!
FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR ARE TRYING TO FIND AN ISSUE IN BOOST NAME THE LOG BOOST DIAG OR FUEL DIAG IN BOOST ETC..
YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY TEMPLATES AS YOU WANT WITH AS MANY PARAMETERS AS YOU NEED.
IF YOU NEED A DIFFERENT TEMPLATE JUST OPEN YOUR INTERNAL LOG SETTINGS AND CLICK LOAD AND PICK THE TEMPLATE THAT YOU NEED
