it doesnt matter what hole you stick the #1 wideband sensor into. If you are running the UEGO just unscrew it from #1 hole and move it down to the #2 hole. If you are running your own wideband just move its sensor to the #2 hole and wire in the wideband controler output to the appropriate wire in the harness for O2 #1. and retune.

Default Connecting aftermarket gauges to EMS

Is it possible (if so how) to connect my EGT and Oil psi gauges to the EMS? I wanted to be able to log the info.

If you've got 3-wire sensors, it would be relatively straightforward. The EMS is looking for a 0-5V signal for the EGT (they are expecting you to use their EGT sensor), so your regular 2-wire thermocouple sensors won't work. The EMS does not have a specific sensor setup for the oil pressure, but if you had a 3-wire sensor you could probably wire it up and use a spare input such as the O2 #2 input to log the voltage.

ground the pump to chassis ground.run the b+ out of the relay to the pump.on the coil side of the relay run your 12v in and run the ground to low side driver #ls3 in the ems (just as an example)

next you go into the ems and click options>configure outputs
on the drop down menu selct ls5 and check basic activation.

if you want the w/i to come on at say 12 psi you want the basic activation to look something like this
coolant temp/at least 160*
load/at least 12 psi
rpm at least 3000
tps at least 80%
road speed at least 20 mph

that will make it work but i would suggest putting a switch on it as well for activation.to do that you click switched ouput configuration and setup the switch parameters for however you wire it up

EDIT: WHEN YOU USE AEM LOW AND HIGH SIDE DRIVERS DO NOT USE LS OR HS 1-4. USE 5-8 EITHER HIGH OR LOW.THE REASON WHY IS WHEN YOU KEY ON THOSE DRIVERS WILL PULSE FOR A SECOND. YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR NITROUS OR METH SPRAYING WHEN YOU KEY IT ON!!

jay, do you know if THIS relay will work?

30/40 Amp Relay DevilsOwn Injection

the boost switch is a bitch and a 1/2, and if i can get the ems to control it, i'd be happy.

yes that will work thats actually cheaper than most auto parts stores, you are so much better of having the ems control the w/i

my question of concern (tho i think i already know)...

do i need to hook up a boost source in order for the ems to read?

im going to go ahead and say no, since it will get its reading from the map sensor in order to engage the pump, but just double checking.

by using your example above, if set at 12psi, itll shut off once below 12psi again, correct? wasnt sure if there was an option for when it is to engage, and when for it is to disengage.
and why would 1 need a switch if turned on by the ems?

thanks

if you set it up with the nitrous map you could have active parameters set up with a hysterisis condition but in short, wire the relay, set the parameters and go! no switches or anything else needed.trust me after your done hooking it up youll be saying ahhhh okk that was easy

Ok a couple of things....

I am using the aem 3.5 map sensor do i need to wire it up to the stand alone or tap into the stock wires....?

Also do i still need a tach driver to run my digital tach.... does the aem have a spot with an ignition output...?

all these parts will be here tomorrow so if you can help me out that would be awesome...

to the stock wires, the sensor has the wire colors and what they are.on the car the orange/green is the signal, the black(i think its black)is ground and the other is obviously the 5v

yes,the aem does not have a tachometer output(which btw does anyone else find that odd

ok i have one more question just got in my oil pressure gauge can it be installed through the aem... if so what pin if anyone knows...

so i have to have a tach driver to run my tach... well that blows... i just old mine thinking the aem would control all of it.. I have to ask this if it does not have a tach signal how can you control the nitrous to come on and off by rpm level?

ok just to double check i put the green wire from the map sensor to the orange on the factory harnes... the black wire to the black and blue on the harness and the red wire to the green and red on the harness.... does this sound right...

now do they make a block off plate so i can remove the factory map sensor?
