Default EMS hook up trouble(pics)

I have read Fraziers thread and the Sticky, still no help. I need to connect and change a tune on my ems. Im follwing Aarons step by step:
Re boot comp
Plug in cord
Click AEM software
Turn key(wait second)
Hit connect
And then immediatly I see this:

So......This is my cable:

Then, hook it in and hit AEM software:

Hit connect:

Check my conection type:

How do I get my comp to recognize this USB connector? I tried downloading shit from the internet, no work. Tried the auto updates on comp, no work. Tried on 2 different lap tops, no work. So is there another usb connector type than this one(from best buy, like 15 bucks i think)....

When im at the serial or usb screen and hit the drop down nothing shows....do i need to manually write something in there?

Ok I think I can remember the sequence. If it does that turn key off unplug usb cord close aem pro. Plug in usb open aem pro turn key on click connect. If it does not reconize the usb like you posted you may have to try another port.

that keyspan thing on his post is a connection cable that uses a usb to 9pin connector, that you purchase, which is better for connection purposes. the black plastic connector that aem has,is not really goo(i have heard). i hard wired the wires that connect inside the plastic piece, directly to the odb connector under the drivers side(you should know what i am talking about.then after i bought the keyspan cable, i could not connect(i have vista)until i downloaded the updated software from the keyspan website. it all sounds crazy, but to be sure to always connect, i did it that way. it is quite possible that aem has worked on the connection issue and you may be able to connect eventually.

Hit up radio shack and pick up their usb/serial converter. Thats what I use on both of my lap tops.

It looks like your EMS is not even seeing your port though. So your cable might actually be fine
